With the publication of "lexicalization: the Origin and Evolution of Chinese Disyllabic words" by Dong xiufang(2002),the study on the lexicalization of cross-layer structure has attracted more and more attention in the field of linguistics. Both in theoretical research and in individual case studies, there has made great progress.Adverbs are a very important part of Chinese. At present,a considerable part of adverbs are developed from the cross-layer structure, but there is no special research on the important part from the cross-layer structure to the disyllabic adverbs. The purpose of this thesis is to make a more detailed analysis, description and explanation of this part.On the basis of typical cases, this thesis attempts to make a more comprehensive study of the formation and evolution of lexicalization from cross-layer structure to disyllabic adverbs.as well as the motivation and mechanism of lexicalization,to summarize its characteristics, and to describe its function characteristics of the synchronic level on the basis of diachronic. It also points out the current trend of development and evolution. In this article, from synchronic and diachronic perspectives, including the three synchronic levels of syntax, semantics and pragmatics,as well as the evolutionary process and approaches,we will use the relevant linguistic theories of cognitive grammar, functional grammar,Lexicalization and subjectivization, and adopt the research methods of combining description and interpretation, form and meaning, synchronic and diachronic, macro and micro. It is divided into four chapters to make a comprehensive analysis and discussion on the lexicalization of cross-layer structures into disyllabic adverbs. The first part of the article is the introduction, which mainly describes the object and scope of the study, the purpose and significance of the study, and the research status of the predecessors, then indicates the research methods and corpus sources. The main content of the article is divided into two parts, chapter one to chapter three is mainly to analyze the case, chapter four is to summarize the characteristics, motivation and mechanism.Chapter one takes the adverb"Faner"(??)as a typical case.It mainly analyses the lexicalization process of cross-layer adverb"Faner"(??),which emerges as an adverb from a cross-layer structure formed by two components which are not originally at the same syntactic level but are just adjacent to the linear level. Then it is further grammaticalized into a related adverb, and finally analyses its motivation and mechanism.Chapter two takes the adverb"Gengqi"(??)as an example, describes the synchronic level of"Gengqi"(??),analyzes the lexicalization process of"Gengqi"(??),as well as the evolution cause and generation mechanism of its formation.Chapter three has two cases,"Guoyu"(??)and"Nanyu"(??).In modern Chinese,"Guoyu"(??)has become a mature adverb of degree and magnitude.Compared with"Guoyu"(??),"Nanyu"(??)develops slowly and their evolution paths are different. Therefore, this article selects two cases to discuss and analyze the characteristics of the lexicalization process of"X yu"(X?).Chapter four analyses the characteristics, motivations and mechanisms of lexicalization of cross-layer structures into disyllabic adverbs from a theoretical point of view, and summarizes their respective characteristics. From the aspects of syntactic environment, disyllabic rhythm, meaning grammaticalization and high frequency co-occurrence,this article analyses the motivation of lexicalization of cross-layer structure into disyllabic adverbs. From the aspects of psychological block and cognitive mechanism, boundary transfer and re-analysis,context absorption and implicit analogy, this article analyses the evoking mechanism of lexicalization from cross-layer structure to disyllabic adverbs. The last part is the conclusion of this thesis, which summarizes the whole article.
