In recent years,with the vigorous development of positive psychology investigation,gratitude as an active personality trait has received more and more attention in the field of psychological research.The research on gratitude has started from the end of the last century,and many theoretical and empirical research results have been accumulated in this field.At present,many gratitude studies have begun to focus their researches on middle school students in adolescence.A large number of studies have shown that middle school students,as a special group,face more external social pressures and psychological conflicts.The level of gratitude is closely related to the academic achievement,pro-social behavior,subjective well-being and mental health of middle school students.As an important measure of the healthy development of individuals,life satisfaction is also closely related to gratitude.Therefore,the interaction and mediation of mechanism are very necessary to research and discuss.The studies were based on the positive psychology perspective.On the one hand,we studied the mediating role of behavioral autonomy between gratitude and life satisfaction,and deeply analyzed the process of behavioral autonomy in this relation;on the other hand,through group counseling in the form of design,we implemented a group counseling program for middle school students,to explore the effect of group counseling on the level of gratitude and life satisfaction of middle school students.In this study,311 middle school students were selected as subjects,and the relationship between gratitude,behavioral autonomy and life satisfaction of middle school students was studied using the adolescent gratitude questionnaire,behavioral autonomy scale and life satisfaction scale.The results showed that:(1)There was an important positive correlation between gratitude and life satisfaction of middle school students(r=0.208-0.308,P<0.01).(2)There was a significant positive correlation between gratitude and behavioral autonomy of middle school students(r=0.262-0.294,P<0.01).(3)There was a significant positive correlation between behavioral autonomy and life satisfaction of middle school students(r=0.274,P<0.01).(4)Behavioral autonomy played a partial mediating role between gratitude and life satisfaction(28.37%).The above results indicate that the level of behavioral autonomy of middle school students affects the relationship between gratitude and life satisfaction.This study designed a gratitude group counseling program for middle school students.We make the interaction and discussion among group members to achieve the purpose of solving problems,and further improve their mental health.In this study,through class visits,20 subjects were selected and divided into experimental group and control group,each with 10 persons.The experimental group was subjected to gratitude group counseling intervention,and the control group did not perform any intervention.The results showed that:(1)From the differential analysis of the results of the two measurements before and after the intervention,it showed that the five dimensions of gratitude,the total score of gratitude,and the life,the post-test score of satisfaction score were significantly higher than the pre-test scores,and showed a significant difference level,indicating that the group counseling intervention had certain benefit.Compared with the experimental group,the control group was not interfered,and the two measurements were not significantly changed before and after the experiment.Differences showed no placebo effect.(2)Scores in the posterior and follow-up tests of the experimental group did not show significant differences,indicating that group counseling interventions were sustainable.In summary,the gratitude group counseling intervention is efficient for developing the gratitude quality and life satisfaction of middle-school students.
