The???????)translated by Sengjiapoluo in Liang Dynasty,Foshuo dakongque zhouwang jing(??????????)translated by Yijing in Tang Dynasty and Fomu dakongque mingwangjing(??????????)translated by Bukong in Tang Dynasty are different translations from one edition.As the significant Esoteric Buddhism literature,there are many corresponding Buddhist substantives and terms in the three translations.The paper takes substantives and terms in the three translations as the object of study and carries out a comprehensive investigation on transliterated words,free translation words and hybrid words by using the different phonetic system and word formation characteristics between Chinese and Sanskrit languageThe paper is divided into three parts structurally.Firstly,the paper macroscopically investigated the corresponding substantives and terms in the three translations of The mantra of the peacock king and divided into four categories with the corresponding characteristics,which is corresponding transliterated form,corresponding free translation form,corresponding transliterated-free translation form and the others.By contrast,the different corresponding transliterated form is caused by transliteration mode,phonetic change,deleting and adding translation and the different corresponding free translation form is caused by single-morpheme and compound words,word-formation,synonyms and meaning-electingSecondly,the paper verifies and rectifies thirty articles of corresponding transliterated words,free translation words and hybrid words by using the methods of Sanskrit-Chinese phonetic transcription,version-difference,historic phonetic change,word-formation,word-connection and document-explanation.Furthermore,the paper compares the differences on syllable characteristics,word-formation and word-order feature between Chinese and SanskritFinally,the paper discusses the value of the study of phonology,lexicographic compilation and collation.The paper concludes the regulation of phonetic change on Chinese initials and finals system from Liang Dynasty to Tang Dynasty from the diachronic perspective by using Sanskrit-Chinese phonetic transcription.The paper supplies and rectifies the questions about diction-suppling,meaning-correcting and different-word-adding during the compilation of Buddhist dictionaries by using the achievement of words which are verified and rectified.The paper proofreads and explains several articles of different words,distinguishes the different words on different editions between right and wrong and concludes the types of the words on different editions by the contrast of the three translations.
