A Report On The Translation Practice Of "A Survey Of Russian Customs"

With the steady development of Sino-Russian relations,the governments of China and Russia have successively carried out activities such as “Year of Culture”,“Year of Language” and “Year of Tourism”,which have set up a platform for exchanges between the two peoples.In the process of exchange,the two countries have a deeper understanding of each other's culture,national conditions and history,absorbing each other's cultural essence,enhancing their own cultural construction and raising the cultural awareness of the people,thus promoting the development of Sino-Russian relations.This paper is a practice report on Russian-Chinese translation,and the translation project is a book on Russian culture.The book gives a detailed and systematic introduction to the architectural features of Russian cities,villages,courtyards and houses,music,Russian lifestyle and other cultural forms.Therefore,in the process of translation,in order to avoid mistranslation,translators need to understand the cultural background of Russian countries and appropriate translation methods and strategies.This thesis takes Hans Vermeer's Skopos Theory as its theoretical guidance.The author makes a detailed study of the linguistic features and translation methods of informative texts from the lexical and sentence levels respectively.At the same time,through case analysis,the author also introduces the translation methods and strategies used in the translation process,and summarizes the experience accumulated in the translation process as well as the translation experience,so as to provide reference for the translation of this kind of subject.
