The high-impact practices have effectively improved the undergraduate graduation rate and retention rate as well as the unsatisfactory academic performance of American students in recent years.Therefore,it is widely favored by the American higher education.Assessing Underserved Students' Engagement in High-Impact Practices,co-authored by Ashley Finley and Tia Mc Nair,introduces quantitative and qualitative researches to explore the influence of high-impact practices on underserved students,so as to to improve previous researches in this field.This book has positive pioneering significance in the field of high-impact practices.Therefore,the translator selects the first part and appendix of the book to translate English into Chinese,aiming to provide some reference research materials for higher education professionals in China who are interested in studying high-impact practices,as well as for translators who are preparing to translate such texts.This report contains five chapters,of which the fourth chapter is the main part.In the fourth chapter,the translator focuses on the translation methods and strategies of high-frequency words,adverbs ending with-ly and long sentences based on specific cases.
