Put forward by Kristeva in the 1960 s,the theory of intertextuality enriched and developed structuralism. This theory emphasizes that in the text space, there is a mutual dialogue among texts and that any text is assimilated with or converted from its previous text. The intertextuality theory has become one of the most frequently used terms in contemporary literary theory and cultural researches since its establishment.Tatyana Nikitichina Tolstoya is a well-known Russian novelist, prose writer, critic and TV presenter, and an outstanding representative of the new generation of Russian literary circles.Tolstoy’s early creations were based on short stories, and she has published 24 short stories since the 1980 s.Tolstoya’s first novel,?Kys?,which was published in 2000,won the "Triumph Literature Award" in 2001,thus elevating her status in Russian literature.By means of intertextuality, the author applies many elements of folk creation to the novel, making it colorful and substantial. This thesis explores the use of folk creation elements in Tolstoy’s novel ?Kys?from the perspective of intertextuality, deeply analyzing the intertextuality between the novel and folk creation elements such as myths, fairy tales, hero songs, folk songs and proverbs.etc.And four themes of the novel can be got from the analysis of these intertextuality phenomena, including the theme of death, the theme of heroism, the theme of freedom, and the theme of love.
