A Translation Report On Tatyana Tolstaya’s Novella "Blind Girl"

With the continuous development of sino-russian relations and the deepening of cultural exchanges,many excellent Russian modern and contemporary literature works have been translated into Chinese and attracted the attention of Chinese readers.Tatyana Tolstaya is a famous postmodern writer in contemporary Russia.Her works mainly focus on the lives of little people,marginal people and women,show various social phenomena,go deep into the characters’ psychology,and express their attitudes towards life in her works.In her works,the author focuses on exploring the fundamental problems of human society: life,death,ideal,disappointment,love,eternity and other issues,revealing the social status quo after the transformation of Russian society from the perspective of her works.As one of novellas of Tatyana Tolstaya Blind Girl was included in her collection of works with the same name which was published in 2014.So far,there are few studies on the translation of this novel at home and abroad.This report is a Russian-Chinese translation report of Tatyana Tolstaya’s novella Blind Girl.In the report,the characteristics of literary style are expounded.On the basis of comparative analysis of the original text and the translation,the difficult problems encountered in the translation process are summarized,and translation skills are used in the report,such as zero translation,transliteration,word-by-wordtranslation,amplification,omission,conversion,etc.The translator hopes this report can provide some valuable thinking for the research of Tatyana Tolstaya’s works and contribute to the translation of her works.
