Function Words In Jinshan Dialect

Jinshan Distract,located in the southwest of Shanghai.Jinshan dialect belongs to the Suhujia Pian of Taihu Pian in Wu District.This article will introduce the function words of Jinshan Distract,including prepositions,conjunctions and auxiliary words.Many function words of Jinshan dialect are specific.They are unique characteristics and are different from the function words of Modern mandarin in both meaning and function aspects.So,the object of this study is just about these function words which are different from Modern mandarin in functions.By field investigation and collecting relevant materials and information,this article will deeply analyze the unique function words in Jinshan dialect,including semantic features,syntactic functions,topic marking functions and so on.Besides,so this article will also do some analysis work about the grammaticalization process of these function words.This article will divide into five parts.The first part is the introduction.This part briefly introduce the human geography of Jinshan Distract,the sound system of Jinshan dialect and the research meaning and method of this article.Chapter One will introduce the prepositions of Jinshan dialect.Recording to the semantic relationship between the preposition's referential content and the predicate center language,we can split the prepositions of Jinshan dialect into five categories:representing time,location,direction;representing basis,means,methods,tools,comparison;representing the reason,purpose;representing agency,patient;and representing concern.Chapter Two introduces the conjunctions of Jinshan dialect.They can be divided into two categories: joint relation conjunctions and partial relation conjunctions.Chapter Three will introduce the auxiliary words of Jinshan dialect,including three categories: structure auxiliary words,tense-and-aspect auxiliary words and modal auxiliary words.Also,we will discuss the topic marking function of modal words in a sentence.The last chapter is Conclusion.Summarizing all parts of the paper,and pointing out some deficiencies of this writing.
