In the Ming and Qing Dynasties,Xunjian and other subcounty officials were divided into places such as Market which was far away from the city and they were essentially representatives of the imperial power. The study of the problem is of great significance to the geographical expansion of the grass-roots political regions below the county level. In my research, the case of western Guangdong, which is surrounded by mountains and seas,is a case. The scope includes Zhaoqing,Gaozhou,Leizhou,Lianzhou and Luoding,Qinzhou,Yangjiang.Focusing on the office station adjustment and layout changes in the two different underlying surfaces of the coastal and mountain areas in the Ming and Qing dynasties, the analysis and combing of the long-term analysis was carried out.The adjustment of the subofficials layout on the coast of western Guangdong against the backdrop of the Japanese Pirates, sea ban of the Qing Dynasty, the piracy of the mid-QingDynasty,and the invasion of imperialist powers in the late Qing Dynasty reflected the rise and fall of the coastal port market in western Guangdong and The policy and consciousness of the feudal dynasty in island development management changed. In the mountainous region, with the conquest of Yao District after the mid-Ming period, the rapid development of the mountainous region's economy and the rapid increase in population, the subofficials stations began from the military-type strongholds that assumed public security functions to sub-county-level administrations with more functions. Finally, through the restoration of the geographical scope of the subofficials District in west Guangdong Province in the late Qing Dynasty, the elements such as the location and boundary of the jurisdiction were clarified. In my opinon, subofficials district not only a security zone, but also a sub-county-level jurisdiction with relatively comprehensive attributes. |
