Internet Populism Research

As a special product of a specific period,social thoughts are a barometer of society and have important research value in understanding the state of social development.In the course of nearly 150 years of development,the populism trend has transcended political,economic,cultural,and regional differences and has been active on the world political stage.Investigating the history of the evolution of populism,we can see that as a historically recurrent social trend of thought,populism is most likely to breed in the process of reform involving interest adjustment.At present,China is in the midst of a comprehensive and deepening reform.The domestic economic and social development and the structure of social interests are undergoing dramatic changes,and the profound adjustment of interests has provided a breeding ground for populism.According to the data released by the People's Forum in the past three years,the influence and attention of populism in the current pattern of Chinese social thoughts is increasing day by day.In 2016 and 2017,it has become the social trend of the highest level of concern and realistic influence in China for two consecutive years..In the traditional era,limited by a single channel of communication and mode of communication,the spread and influence of populism trends is extremely limited,and the emergence of the Internet has changed this situation.The rapid development and widespread popularity of Internet information technology in China has greatly changed the pattern of information generation and dissemination,and has spawned a network space with virtual,convenient and decentralized features.Populism in the real world forms internet populism with the help of internet.On the one hand,internet populism has the basic position of populism in the real society to advocate the civilian population and criticize the elite group.On the other hand,it expresses and even vents this position with irrational and emotional network discourse and network behavior.The characteristics of internet have given the populism of the Internet a powerful spread and spread.In the concrete practice,rendering the crisis consciousness,posting the hierarchical label and creating the opposite situation become the three most obvious logics of action in the internet populism.On the whole,the breeding and spreading of internet populism has a large negative impact,but its existence also reflects many problems of reform and development,and has a mirror image of forced reform and development.On the basis of comprehensively clarifying the connotation,characteristics,action logic and influence of internet populism,this paper focuses on the causes of internet populism and the corresponding governance discussion.The current Internet populism in China is the result of the combination of Western populism,social unfairness in transforming China,network information technology,and cultural tradition of egalitarianism.Therefore,it is necessary to supplement a variety of measures,from resisting the external impact of the Western populism wave,promoting fairness and justice in the people's livelihood,improving network consultation,strengthening the government's guiding force for sensation,correctly controlling opinions and leaders,and cultivating rational netizens.Multi-strategy combines to form a combination of governance.Generally speaking,as a new manifestation of social thoughts,the current internet populism in China just reflects the new situation and new problems in the process of social development.At present,the party and the government attach great importance to the security of network ideology.Under the background,comprehensively interpreting internet populism and adopting effective measures to guide and govern it is of great benefit to building a harmonious and orderly network ecology in the new era,innovating the network governance system,and realizing the modernization of network governance capabilities.
