Research On The Protection Of The Rights Of Female Detainees In Detention Centers

The rapid economic and social development has prompted more women to participate in social life,and the number of female detainees has been soaring.However,in the process of custody,the measures taken by the detention house to guarantee the rights of female detainees fail to fully consider the differences between female detainees and male detainees,resulting in the violation of the rights of female detainees.International studies of the rights of female detainees throughout the world have found that the treatment of the female detainees is lacking in such areas as basic life,legal representation,medical treatment,social reform,privacy,security,supervision and inspection,and psychological counselling,etc.Through referencing significant international practices,our country can gain enlightenment which will enable us to formulate laws and methods of efficient implementation to improve the level of basic welfare,pschological intervention,improve medical services,supervision and inspection,and promote education and and successful social reform of female detainees.The implementation of the protection of the rights of female detainees in detention centers can directly reflect the level of human rights protection in China,and is of great significance to consolidating the basic work of public security,ensuring the safety and stability of the supervision places,ensuring the smooth progress of criminal proceedings and maintaining social order.
