Change And Unchanged: The Underlying Logic Of The Construction Of A New Type Of Sino-US Relationship Between Major Powers

In February 2012,China's then Vice President Xi Jinping visited the United States and proposed the idea of“constructing the new China-US great power relations”.Under the historical background of Realism cannot adapt to the needs of the times,local conflicts continue,peace and development remain the theme of international relations,the construction of the new China-US great power relations does not only conform to the theme of the times of peace,cooperation,and development,but also to resolving the ‘Thucydides Trap' of a struggle between great powers,constructs a new world order and other significant meanings.However,the construction of the new China-US great power relations has not always been smooth.For this reason,it is necessary to conduct an in-depth analysis of the constants and variables of China-US relations,to unearth aspects of China-US relations such as their intrinsic nature,development patterns,and influencing factors,and to use the constant of China-US relations as the foothold of the new China-US great power relations to further the strategic consensus and mutual trust between China and the US.The above is also the reason why i choose this topic.First of all,the emergence of the new China-US great power relation theory can be divided into three phases,namely the incubation phase,the joint launch phase,and the deepening development phase.By analyzing the three stages,we can better understand the connotation and historical background of constructing the new China-US great power relations.On this basis,this paper analyzes the logical starting point in the construction of the new China-US great power relations,that is,the constants in the relationship between the two countries,which are divided into three parts: national interests,cooperation needs,and civilized differences.Next,this paper analyzes the logical possibility of the construction of the new China-US great power relations,that is,the variables in Sino-US relations,which are divided into three parts: the development trend of the relationship between the two countries,the international environment,and the strength comparison.Therefore,taking the constants and variables of the relationship between the two countries as the underlying logic,the article believes that the international environment of the development of new China-US great power relations should be analyzed based on the theory of constructivism.Besides,it should also be analyzed with constants and variable in Sino-US relations,national interests,internal essence of the two countries,etc.With a tolerant mindset,an attitude of cooperation,and win-win thinking,the two country will make a better world.
