The 2016 National Urban Ethnic Work Conference pointed out that doing urban ethnic work well is an important part of strengthening and improving ethnic work and urban work in the new situation.At present,the national ethnic work in China is showing a new trend of complexity,dynamics,change,and long-term.To cope with the new normal of urban ethnic work in the new situation,various government departments are improving the corresponding policies and systems,strengthening departmental cooperation and joint In addition to law enforcement andthe establishment of a normalized mechanism to deal with urban ethnic issues,it is also necessary to inject fresh vitality of social forces in the field of urban ethnic affairs and integrate social governance into urban ethnic work.In this context,under the leadership of the party and the government,ethnic groups play an increasingly prominent role in participating in the governance of urban ethnic affairs because of their spontaneity,autonomy and folk characteristics,which is mainly reflected in supporting the development of urban ethnic affairs governance with the government's Ethnic Affairs Department,as a bridge and link between the government and ethnic minority compatriots,and helping ethnic minority compatriots To adapt to urban life,solve problems,tap and cultivate outstanding young talents of ethnic minorities,realize the self-service and management of ethnic minorities,and promote the harmony of ethnic relations and social stability.This paper interprets the role of ethnic groups in the governance of urban ethnic affairs from the perspective of ethnic politics,and discusses the role,working experience and existing problems of Changsha ethnic groups in the context of the new era,and puts forward the enlightenment to the governance of urban ethnic affairs in China.Founded in 1991,after 27 years of development,Changsha Ethnic Friendship Association has become a community organization with nearly 10000 members(including 48 nationalities,distributed in provincial and municipal Party and government organs,groups,schools,enterprises and institutions).It has done a lot of effective work in promoting national unity,social harmony and progress,promoting the economic and social development of ethnic areas in Hunan Province In addition to participating in public welfare activities such as economy,education,medical treatment and law,many characteristic projects have been established,such as the first "111 project",participating in the establishment of legal service station,and establishing the three cities'Ethnic Friendship mechanism of "Chang,Zhu and Tan".In a series of work,Changsha Ethnic Friendship Association not only plays an important role,but also accumulates a lot of experience for reference.At the same time,in the development process of Changsha Ethnic Friendship Association,it is inevitable that there are some problems that do not adapt to the development trend of the socialization of ethnic work in the new era,such as the vague role of the association itself,the lack of participation platform;the scattered members,the collective role is difficult to play;the organization is not perfect,the system is not perfect;the funding is limited,the lack of development momentum and so on.The above problems are common in the development of domestic ethnic groups.To solve the above problems,not only need ethnic groups adhere to the leadership of the party and the government,improve their own organizational mechanism,strengthen team building,broaden the sources of funds,but also need the party and the government to pay enough attention to them,provide policy support,strengthen the publicity of their role,and improve the ethnic groups Community development environment.In addition,the public should understand and attach importance to the relevant work of the government and ethnic groups,and actively cooperate with the relevant work.
