As a new force,special-post teachers play a very important part in the development of rural education.They devote their most precious,passionate and creative time to the barren area in China,which deserves to be praised and commended.Their professional development and real living condition are connected with both their growth and the future of rural education.However,their living conditon and unhappiness are worryin g and the high rate of staff resignation should draw the whole society's attention and support.Recently,there is an increasing number of studies about the completement of the policy and the post-teachers' rapid professional devlopment from the microscopic point of view begin to emerge.However,there are few research of special-post teachers'professional development and sense of happiness and existence.This study applies the methods of narrative inquiry trying to discuss the post-teachers' real living condition and then come up with some measures and suggestions by presenting the difficulties and problem they are faced with when working for the rural education.One typical special-post teachers is chosen as interviewee in this thesis.She belongsto one of the first special-post teachers in Hunan Province in 2009,and she remains there for two years after completing her service in the poor county,M county,in Hunan province.She witnesses the real living condition of five groups of special-post teachers.The author,taking part in the research personally,gives overall interviews and observations of the professional development of special-post teachers.The author also analyses the teachers' development status from the different aspects of living conditions,improvement of teaching,and professional development:She not only has a strong sense of self-development,but also takes part in the postgraduate entrance exams and attends three years of study as an on-the-job graduate student with the heip of the national policy and support;She loves teaching,cares for students,and is responsible;She has a low salary and delay in the welfare policy,lacks care in life,and has to put up with a boring life and a heavy workload;She also lacks guidance and training and so on.Based on the above analysis,it is belueved that to promote special-post teachers'living conditions,firstly,government at all levels should attach much importance to the teachers' living conditions,raise the wages and sense of happiness and guarantee the timely welfare.Also goverment should improve the financial budget and allowance,and find ways to train effectively and continuingly,which is essential to increase the living conditions of the special-post teachers.What's more,it is schools' duty to make the most of the internal environment to promote the special-post teachers' professional development.Besides,the society is supposed to change the view of the special-post teachers,show them more concern,especially their marriage,and report more about their services in rural villages and thir dovotion to the society.Eventually,special-post teachers should value their self-development,raise the awareness of self-development,reflect conscientiously.They also should make the most of policy to promote themselves,study consciously and actively seek opportunities to train.
