A Study Of Class Rules Based On Cultivating Primary School Students' Behavior Habits

Class rules play an important role in class management.A State has its laws and a class needs its rules.Without rules,a class would be disunited like loose sand.Class rules can restrain bad behaviors and guide students cultivate good habits.How to make class rules? What rules should be made? By studying class rules and students' behavior habits of six Grade Six classes in a school in the Development District of Dalian,this paper finds out problems in class rules and proposes some advice.The aim is to make up the gap in previous research,provide help to teachers and contribute to training successors to the socialist cause.This study reaches conclusions on the problems of current class rules in primary schools: Class rules are too rigid and cover-standardized;Class rules are not students-oriented.Under those rules,students' freedom,flexibility,sense of responsibility,creativity and individuality are restricted,and even strangled;Class rules are not expressed in a proper way.There are a disproportionate proportion of negative statements in the rules,which are full of stereotyped expressions and not easily accepted by students.To address the above issues,this paper makes the following recommendations: Teachers should give full consideration to the differences and pluralistic development of pupils when making class rules.Teachers should give full play to the spirit of democracy by working out class rules together with students.Class rules should be classified and refined.Class rules with clarity and details can be better executed.A supervisory responsibility system with supervisors and inspectors should be carried out to make sure the rules are truly implemented.Incentive mechanisms should be used.New and effective incentives should be set up to enhance students' enthusiasm for participation and improve effectiveness.Class rules should be expressed in active language.Furthermore,teachers should improve their professionalism in pedagogy and listen to the students' voice.Scientific and reasonable class rules are not only good tools of class management,but also great helpers in helping pupils develop good habits,thus providing strong support and assurance for healthy development of pupils both physically and mentally.
