Historical materials is an important basis for one to recognize history.In the key competency of history disciplines,"The Literacy of Historical Evidence" provides definite requirements for student’s ability to analyze and use historical materials.At the same time,the 2017 version of the "The History Curriculum Standard in General Senior High Schools" has also set up a historical materials research module in the elective II course.That is to say,historical materials have been highly valued in the teaching of history in middle schools.Although the educational circles has recognized the importance of historical materials and has made extensive use of history teaching in middle schools,few scholars and front-line teachers are concerned about the use of western historical materials in history teaching.In the current senior high school of world history teaching,teachers mainly use Chinese historical materials for teaching.This kind of teaching of world history based on Chinese historical materials can reflect the historical facts of world history,but it lacks corresponding cultural understanding.Western historical materials,which is an important carrier to spread the world history and culture,can provide important help for students to learn from and borrow from foreign historical cultures and ways of thinking.This article is based on western historical materials,combined with its practical application in the teaching of senior high school world history,which intended to explore the feasibility of using western historical materials in senior high school world history teaching and the impact on students,teachers and history teaching.This article is divided into five parts.The first part is the Introduction,mainly discussing the origin and significance of the research topic and combing the research status at home and abroad and further expounding the ideas and methods of the ideas and methods of the research topic.The second part is the core content of this article.The author focuses on the feasibility of using western historical materials in senior high school world history teaching,including the concept of western historical materials,the favorableconditions of using western historical materials and the questionnaires analysis of "the current use of western historical materials in senior high school world history teaching".The author believes that the advantage of using western historical materials lies in the variety of way to obtain western historical materials,the continuous improvement of the foreign language level of teachers and students in senior high school,and the diversification of western historical materials.In addition,through the analysis of the questionnaires of students and teachers,the author further demonstrates the feasibility of the use of western historical materials.The third part mainly expounds the principle of selecting western historical materials and the strategy of implementing the teaching method of western historical materials.The author emphasizes that in the selection of western historical materials,three principles should be followed: the original state,appropriateness,and applicability.Two strategies should be emphasized: the creation of problem situations based on western historical materials and the use of western graphics historical materials.The fourth part introduces and analyzes the teaching cases of western historical materials in the course of the Athenian democracy.The case emphasizes that the selection of western historical materials should be based on the principle of applicability and the implementation of the strategy of using western image historical materials to organize teaching,which all have successfully improved the teaching effect of world history class.The fifth part is mainly about the use of western historical materials in the teaching of world history in senior high school.It focuses on the prominent role of the use of western historical materials in students,teachers,and history teaching.It emphasizes that western historical materials should be used to avoid avoid excessive and ineffective use.
