Since we came to the colourful world,we have not stopped learning and controlling all kinds of actions---life is movement.With the improvement of living conditions,parents pay great attention to the physical quality of children.Because of heavy learning tasks,their interest in participating in sports activities is reduced.There are also some other factors that restrict students to participate in sports.For example,parents restrict students' to participate in sports activities.Some schools pay less attention to sports work.Sports activities and equipment cannot meet the needs of students.This experiment was held at Xinhua Primary School in Cangzhou City,a young children's track and field project base.Two classes in the fourth grade of Xinhua Primary School were selected as the experimental subjects.Questionnaires,expert interviews,experiments,data statistics,and other research methods were used to teach experimental class.Before and after the experiment,Wang Xiaozan's sports interest test scale was used to analyze the sports interest of the experimental class and the control class.It is concluded that the students' interest in the track and field project is higher than that in the traditional track and field teaching project.The 17-week track and field teaching practice courses were conducted for the experimental class and the control class respectively.The subjects were tested by 50 meters,standing long jump,one minute sit-up,throwing a solid ball and so on.By comparing the changes of physical fitness test indicators before and after the experiment,the final analysis shows that the physical fitness improvement index of children's track and field teaching class is higher than that of traditional projects.The test scores improved significantly in 50 meters and front throwing a solid ball.Thus,it is concluded that the children's interest in track and field events has a significant effect on improving the physical quality of students.Although the new project is superior to traditional track and filed teaching in the terms of teaching ideas and methods,it will be difficult to apply it to physical education activities because of insufficient equipment,low training density and long teaching competition.Based on the practical experience in the teaching of "interesting track and field",this paper tries to add some teaching methods,such as self-made equipment,children's track and field events combined with sports games,group teaching to summarize the contents and methods suitable for children's track and field events.Practical tests in teaching activities draw the following conclusions: The density of practice has increased comparing with theprevious in the children's track and field teaching activities.The students' physical quality,track and field skills are significantly improved.This shows that children's interest in track and field teaching is good.Through organizing rich and colorful teaching activities: sports games,equipment self-produced and project arrangement,increasing students' interest in participating in children's track and field activities,exercising good habits,cultivating students' life-long sports ability and saving environmental protection awareness.In the teaching practice,students are divided into groups.Group leaders assign exercises and organize team competitions so as to improve students' enthusiasm for participating in sports classes and cultivate students' cooperation and organizational skills.
