Parent-child reading refers to the activity of parents and children to stimulate children's interest in reading,to develop children's reading ability and enhance their emotional activities by reading language and emotional communication in the process of reading books.Parent-child reading is an important way of early education and plays an important role in the development of children.Parents,as participants and guides of parent-child reading activities,play a leading role.This article mainly discusses parents' influence on parent-child reading.A survey of parent-child reading was conducted by 450 parents in Dalian through the survey of“Parent-child Reading Activity Survey Questionnaire”and we analyzed the impact of parents on parent-child reading activities combining related interviews.According to the conclusion of this study:1.The age of parents has no significant effect on parent-child reading activities 2.Parents' level of education influences parent's level of investment in parent-child reading,process implementation and instructional strategies,and parent-child reading attitude.3.The occupations of parents influence parents' involvement in parent-child reading,the implementation and instructional strategies of parent-child reading.There is no significant effect on parents' occupations and parental attitudes to parent-child.4.The family's economic income affects the parent's attitude towards parent-child reading.The economic income of the family has no significant effect on the parent-child reading investment and parent-child reading process implementation and guidance strategies.Finally,it puts forward some suggestions for promoting family parent-child reading activities:1.Raise parents' awareness of parent-child reading 2.Promote their own cultural qualities 3.Enrich parents' guiding strategies for parent-child reading activities.
