Globalization and information are the pronouns of the twenty-first Century.Under the influence of globalization,Human beings become the community of fate,mutual dependence,common glory and common loss.The information age is the third wave of human development after the agricultural and industrial age.The tide of globalization and information has promoted the great change of society and put forward new demands for talents.The key competences has come into being in this era,which caters to the needs of the development of the times and is the requirement for the future talent.Thus,the word " key competences " has become the key word of global education reform in the new era of twenty-first Century.From the key competences documents issued by various countries,the key competences has obvious consistency and similarity,but it is not the same.Behind this difference,there are many questions that can be reconsidered.China and the United States,as the two most important countries in the world,have a profound influence on the world's civilization and the world pattern.Based on this,the article makes a comparative study on the key competences of China and the United States.The article is divided into five parts.The first part,the introduction.The main problems of the background,the present situation,the purpose and significance of the research,the innovation point and so on are briefly described.The second part,the first chapter and the second chapter.First,it introduces the background of the key competences of China and the United States.Secondly,it summarizes the key competences system of China and the United States respectively.Finally,the Chinese characteristics of key competences are discussed from the aspects of value orientation,elements and implementation,and the value orientation of the core skills of the United States in the twenty-first Century is discussed.The third part,the third chapter.The key competences of China and the United States from the value orientation,system,elements,guarantee and other aspects of consistency and difference analysis.Points out the similarities and differences in the key competences of the two countries.The fourth part,the molding of culture: the essence of the difference.From a cultural perspective,this part clarifies the reasons for the difference of key competences between China and the US,including the socialist core values and pragmatism,collectivism and individualism.The fifth part,reflection.The work of combing and reflecting mainly from the perspective of internationalization and localization,the aim of practice and the three levels of education for the future.Through the thematic study of the key competences proposed by China andthe United States,we expect to add new ideological resources to the researchersengaged in the related fields.It is of practical significance to improve our key competences framework,promote core competence development,buildcurriculum,formulate educational quality index system,and further promotecore quality oriented curriculum reform.
