The construction of teaching staffs is always not only the major issue of school reform and development,but also the key to improve the quality of education.But how can we assess teachers' performance fairly,justly,openly,scientifically and normatively in such a dilemma at the present stage,which is the problem about teachers' management in the past years,and the important study for school's human resource management.Taking Shantou A Middle School as an example,This paper investigates and analyzes the performance appraisal,researches the current status about assessment,and deeply analyzes in combination with the theory of management by objectives,expectancy theory and 360-degree feedback and evaluation,and after carries out the field research,interview,investigation,case study and so on by practice,it proposes the improvement strategy for the teachers' performance appraisal of Shantou A Middle School through on the basis of analyzing and researching the current status of teachers' performance appraisal of Shantou A Middle School.In this paper,the research is concluded as follows:Focusing on the value of teachers' performance appraisal,major contents of teachers' performance appraisal,and basic appraisal of teachers' performance appraisal,this paper analyzes the current situation of teachers' performance appraisal of Shantou A Middle School,discovers the existing problems of the current methods of performance appraisal,and then analyzes the reasons correspondingly.The problems include: the degree of emphasis on teachers' performance appraisal is not enough;the system preparation body for teachers' performance appraisal is sole;the evaluation method of performance appraisal is simple with weak purpose;the evaluation standard of teachers' performance appraisal is incomplete;the system of teachers' performance appraisal is imperfect;and the capacity of communication and feedback is weak in respect of the result of teachers' performance appraisal.By further demonstration and in combination with the discovered problem and reason analysis,it is considered that we should set up the correct concept of performance appraisal,highlight teachers' dominant role in performance appraisal,prepare the scientific and normative assessment flow,reinforce the normative management on the flow of teachers' performance appraisal,and emphasize the degree of result feedback of teachers' performance appraisal,thus scientifically utilize and rationally analyze the result of performance appraisal.
