Parental involvement of the grandparents is both a Chinese tradition and an important phenomenon in today's family education.This study attempts to portray the daily life of grandparents involved in the parenting and considerate the impact of being a participator of parenting for grandparents,development.this study only focused on the grandparents living in cities,the subjects were sampled in Nanjing and Fuzhou.This study mainly adopts the interviewing method.First,this study investigated the daily behaviors and daily life of grandparents who raising the children,and classified the mode of parenting in four type.Secondly,this study explored that how the parental involvement affects the grandparents'everyday life and psychological state.Based upon above,this study discussed the self-development dilemma of grandparents involved in parenting,and came up with two major dimensions of development for grandparents:1.Cultivate positive self-focused;2.Being able to help others and concern the bigger world.In order to promote the self-development of grandparents who involved in parenting,the following suggestions should be applied:1.Reducing the mechanical and repetitive chores,free grandparents,time and energy which can be used for the self-development;2.Increasing the opportunities for grandparents to participate in the exercise;3.Providing grandparents with "community social activities" to expand their horizons and enrich their daily life.In order to achieve those aims,the family,the kindergarten and the community should make joint efforts.
