| The problem of floating children is a social issue of great concern.Floating children face more challenges in schools,families and other settings.Hence,they need more support than other children.By running a one-year community education service project for children and adolescents in community H of Qingdao City,it is found that the floating children in this community generally have the appeals of after-school care services,family education services,social education and so on.According to the characteristics of floating children,the workers analyzed the actual situations of their families,schools,communities and peer groups.In order to meet the appeals of floating children and their families in H,a series of service activities have been carried out by using group work,community work.At the same time,we also took into consideration the expectations from institutions,investors and workers.We hope to prevent and solve social problems and meet the appeals of all parties through these activities.Social workers intervene in community education activities under the guidance of kinds of professional methods of social work.Some results have been achieved:(1)The educational needs of migrant children in community H have been met.(2)This practice has made the service object changed.(3)The relevant experiences of community work has been explored.What's more,the values,concepts and methods of social work infuse fresh blood into the development of community education in China,and more possibilities have been discovered about the way to develop community education.Meanwhile,social work are faced with a lot of problems: less casework services,unable to cooperate with the school,short of funds and so on.Therefore,some suggestions have been put forward to improve the effectiveness of social work intervention in community education of floating children,which can also provide reference for social work to solve the problem of floating children from the level of community education. |
