With the gradual deepening of the reform of history curriculum in middle schools in China,the history education circles have paid more and more attention to the study of textbooks and achieved fruitful results.Taking the auxiliary system of American middle school history textbooks as the research object,this paper attempts to introduce and elucidate the textbook "America: History of Our Nation"(Prentice Hall)published in 2011 as the basic text of the eighth grade history textbook of junior middle school and related curriculum standards.and some of the chapters are taken as examples to focus on the analysis in order to understand the characteristics of the assistant system of history textbooks in American middle schools.This paper is divided into three parts: the introduction part mainly introduces the purpose and significance of the research,the research status at home and abroad,the main research contents and methods of the paper.In the first part of the text,starting from the curriculum standards of Social Sciences in the United States,the curriculum standards of Social Sciences in Maryland and the overall framework of textbooks,the curriculum standards on which Prentice Hall edition of "America: The History of Our Country" is based are summarized and analyzed,and the general situation of the auxiliary system of the textbook is introduced.The second part classifies and elaborates the text-assisted system of Prentice Hall edition "America: Our Country's History".The third part summarizes the Prentice Hall edition "America: Our Country's History" textbook.The characteristics of the book assistant system are verified,and some enlightenments and noteworthy points are drawn from it.This study is based on the author's two-month study and exchange in primary and secondary schools in the United States in 2017,including the original textbook Prentice Hall "America: Our Country's History" and its curriculum standards,which provides a basis for the writing of this article.In addition,there are few studies on the auxiliary system of American history textbooks in China.Therefore,the theme of this study has some innovations.
