In this study,250 STEM teachers in two districts of Shanghai were selected as subjects to investigate the status quo of STEM teachers' curriculum competence and compare the differences.This project aims to investigate the age,gender,subject background,teaching subject and other basic personal information of STEM teachers,as well as the status quo and differences in curriculum competence among different groups,so as to provide a basis for the selection of STEM teachers' reserve force and the improvement of STEM curriculum training programs.This study is divided into the following seven parts:Chapter one,introduction.This section first introduces the international and domestic research background of STEM,then presents the problems and research value of this study,and then sorts out the international and domestic research status of STEM courses and teacher competence.Finally,the main contents and methods of this study are introduced.Chapter two defines the core concepts of STEM curriculum,STEM teachers and STEM teachers' curriculum competence.Chapter three investigates the current situation of STEM teachers' curriculum competence in two districts of Shanghai.This research adopts the questionnaire of teachers' school-based curriculum development ability compiled by luo qin,which is distributed online.SPSS20 is used to sort out the data results.Chapter four,the investigation results and the difference analysis.This part mainly introduces the basic situation of the survey sample,descriptive statistics of STEM teachers' curriculum competence in two districts of Shanghai,and the difference analysis of STEM teachers' curriculum competence in X district of Shanghai based on demographic characteristics.Chapter five analyzes the existing problems and their causes.Based on the results of the third chapter,this paper discusses and analyzes the problems and causes of STEM teachers' curriculum competence in the two districts of Shanghai.Chapter six,strategies for improving STEM teachers' curriculum competence.Combined with the previous research results and the actual situation,this chapter puts forward the corresponding strategies for the problems presented by the survey.Chapter seven,the research conclusions and prospect.This chapter is a summary of the foregoing and a reflection on the deficiencies in the research,so as to provide suggestions for the follow-up studies.Through the research,it is found that the STEM teachers in X and Y districts are mainly female and tend to be younger in age.Their educational background is mainly undergraduate and their subject background is mostly science.The existing problems include :(1)the effect of STEM teacher training program is not good;(2)STEM teachers generally have good curriculum competence,but weak curriculum design ability.In combination with the previous research results and the actual situation,according to the problems reflected in the survey,put forward the corresponding strategies :(1)enrich the connotation of teacher training;(2)establish a targeted layered training system;(3)define course objectives and carry out localization practice;(4)build a network platform to share course resources.
