Vocational education plays an important role on the development of a nation,an industry or a person.Education can not make good progress without sufficient fund.Although China has made efforts to make sure vocational education's development with financial support,there are still few problems including the huge gap between vocational education and normal higher education,the equality of funding's allocation among different area,the low level compared with developed countries,the inefficiency of fund usage.It's necessary to learn abroad and figure out what foreign countries had done to guarantee adequate funding and its efficiency when we try to solve our own problems.As the members of the British commonwealth,Australia and New Zealand have learnt a lot from the U.K.but they also have their own features.In Australia,central government design the vocational education funding system,state governments design their own standards and provide financial supports to their vocational education within the system.Meanwhile,Australia make market factors come into vocational education to improve the amount and efficiency of fund.In U.K.,enterprises and individuals have less positive attitude towards investing in vocational education than Australian for their different traditional cultures,the government is the designer of funding system and main source of fund.Some funds are calculated by formula which includes many factors that are important to vocational education,the other are provided through government's projects.Money flows from central government to local authorities and councils,then to industries and individuals.In New Zealand,the resource of fund is some kind like Australia,the allocation system is kind like Britain.Student achievement and learning hours are key factors to the amount of funding.New Zealand has designed funding formulas and created several projects with plenty of fund like Britain.At the same time,it also established a strict supervision system.This paper focuses on these countries' funds in vocational education,studies the mechanism and features of their funding system and puts forward some suggestions for China.This paper consists of five parts:First part "the introduction" includes the reason of this research,related conceptions,literature review and research methods.Second part to forth part are "Australian vocational education funding system","British vocational education funding system" and "New Zealand's vocational education funding system".Each part includes a country's vocational education history,the level and situation of its fund with statistics,the mechanism of funding system.Fifth part summarizes the common features and differences of funding system among the three countries,comes to conclusions and put some suggestions.
