With the rapid development of China's economy, the educational methods are constantly changing. In recent years,left-behind children have received increasing attention from all walks of life.Left-behind children are mainly primary school students and junior high school students. This is an important period for the formation of young people's outlook on life and values. Most of the left-behind children in rural areas are affected by various factors in society, and they are psychologically stressed. It is easy to produce various psychological problems such as solitude and anxiety. However, due to the influence of traditional ideas, schools or parents pay more attention to students' academic performance and often ignore students' psychological problems. With the changes in the form of the school, the traditional boarding students and day students are gradually increasing, and the psychological problems that follow are more and more worthy of attention. This paper conducts a questionnaire survey on loneliness and mental health for boarders and non-boarders,and conducts data processing and analysis on the survey results from gender, grade level and whether it is a boarder.I hope to further understand the loneliness and mental state of junior high school students. To provide valuable scientific information for the school's mental health education work, thereby improving the state of loneliness of junior high school students and promoting the mental health of junior high school students. This paper mainly studies 650 students in the seven, eight and ninth grades of all the representative secondary schools in the region.A total of 608 valid(235 boarding students and 373 non-boarders)are investigated.Based on the scale of loneliness and mental health, after professional data collation and analysis, the loneliness and mental health of boarding and non-boarding junior high school students are compared in different dimensions in gender and grade.Professional data processing and analysis, the results show:(1)Boarders score higher than non-boarders in all dimensions of loneliness and mental health.(2)The loneliness and mental health of boarding and non-boarding junior high school students are not significant in gender.(3)The level of loneliness and mental health of boarding and non-boarding junior high school students is significant. Therefore, the following conclusions are drawn:(1)The overall level of loneliness and mental health status of boarding and non-boarding junior high school students is good.Compared with non-boarders,boarders are more likely to have loneliness and worse mental health.(2)There is a significant difference in the level of loneliness and mental health between boarding and non-boarding junior high school students.
