The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between music ability and mathematical ability of children in large class. In this study,152 children from 4 large classes were selected from Nanjing XL kindergarten.Primary Measures of Music Aptitude(PMMA),compiled by Edwin Gordon, was used to measure the Music ability of children.Children's mathematical Achievement Test(3-9years),developed by Taiwan scholar Xie Shan, was used to measure Children's mathematical ability. In this study, the development status of music ability and mathematical ability and the relationship between music ability and mathematical ability were observed and analyzed by using the scale measurement method and non-participatory observation method. The result indicated:First, there is a significant positive correlation between music ability and mathematical ability of children in large class.Among them, music ability subdivision melody and rhythm have significant positive correlation with informal mathematical ability and formal mathematical ability.Second, there is a positive correlation between the subdivision melody and rhythm of music ability of large class girls and the informal mathematical ability, but no correlation with the formal mathematical ability.Third, music ability of large class boys:there is a positive correlation between subdivision melody and informal mathematical ability, while there is a positive correlation between rhythm and informal mathematical ability and formal mathematical ability.According to the research results, the researchers put forward the following Suggestions:pay attention to the penetration of the numeral tone field, integrate children's experience in mathematics and music.Provide a good music environment and abundant music materials for children to learn music.
