The purpose of the study is to explore the effect of ICT(information and communications technology)on children's musical ability of children aged 5?6,so as to provide empirical support for the application of information and communications technology in early music education. The researchers selected 60 children from two classes in B kindergarten in N City as the research subjects, divided them into an experimental group and a comparative group. The study used experiment methods, test methods, observation methods, and used the self-made information technology application plan to intervene the experimental group for a period of 12 weeks. Before and after the experiment,PMMA(Primary Measures of Music Aptitude)was used to measure the musical ability of the children. The effect of the intervention on the musical ability of the children was analyzed from both the quality and the quantity.Concluded as follow:First,The use of ICT can effectively promote 5?6 year old children's musical ability and its sub-dimensions(tonal,rhythm perception ability);compared with tonal perception ability,ICT has more advantages in improving rhythm perception ability.Second,The impact of ICT on the musical ability of 5?6 year old children is gender-specific,and ICT is more effective in improving the musical ability of boys.Based on the research conclusions, the researchers put forward relevant suggestions on how ICT should be appropriately applied to early music education: 1.Enrich children's music perception pathways;2.Support Children's reflection in music activities;3.Make children's music learning visible;4.Provide a variety of rhythm perception opportunities;5.Reasonable view of the gender differences in the impact of ICT;6.control the time that children use ICT.
