With the continuous deepening of the strategy of developing the western region,China has successively formulated a series of helping policies to promote the development of higher education in the western region,among which the"co-cultivation of undergraduates" is an important decision to promote the quality of nurturing talents in the western region with education as the core.In 2001,the Ministry of Education arranged and deployed the work of "counterpart support to Western universities" in China,and advocated that the project of "co-cultivation of undergraduates" should be implemented between the universities which are belonging to Project 985 and 211,locating in the Central and eastern regions,and the colleges in the western region.Since then,some colleges in Guizhou Province have responded positively to the call for policy and have successively cooperated with the supporting universities to co-cultivate undergraduates,which have achieved good results but there are still a series of problems.Especially,the poor learning adaptation of the project students not only affects the improvement of the quality of cultivating,but also has a certain impact on the smooth running of the project.Based on the theory of human development ecology and the stage theory of psycho-social development,this study takes co-cultivation of undergraduates who are studying in the three local colleges in Guizhou province and the supporting universities as the object of investigation and uses the combination of qualitative research and quantitative research to observe the learning adaptation of "co-cultivation of undergraduates",analyzing the present situation of their learning adaptability and the specific manifestations of poor learning adaptation.Firstly,on the basis of literature research,this paper investigates and analyzes the current situation and differences of learning adaptability of "co-cultivation of undergraduates" from five dimensions:learning motivation,learning strategy,school teaching,school management and learning environment.Secondly,in order to make up for the shortcomings of the questionnaire survey,the interview method is used to investigate and analyze the specific performance of the poor learning adaptation of "co-cultivation of undergraduates".Finally,the causes of poor learning adaptation of the students is analyzed by using the results of comprehensive questionnaire survey.The study found that the overall level of learning adaptability of the co-cultivation of undergraduates are good,but there are still 15%of them lack of learning adaptation.In the dimension of learning adaptability,learning motivation adapts best,followed by learning strategy,school management and school teaching,learning environment adapts to the worst,so learning adaptability still need to be promoted.The results of T test and single factor variance analysis show that there were significant differences in the learning adaptability of the students in nationality,major,English foundation and source,but there was no significant difference in gender and school type.Combined with the results of the questionnaire survey and the in-depth interview study,the researcher found that the poor learning adaptation of the students is mainly reflected in the learning strategy,school management,school teaching and learning environment dimension.Studies have also shown the low sense of cultural identity and great differences in education at the regional level,the unclear rules and regulations at the school level,the unsound management system and the unchanged sense of service,the self-perception bias and low self-evaluation of students at their own level,the weak learning thinking stereotype and the weak academic help-seeking behavior.And the low ability to cope with pressure and the poor self-adjustment ability are the main causes of poor learning of the students.At the same time,this study focuses on the regional,school and students' own three levels to put forward countermeasures and suggestion.
