The values orientation of history teaching in junior high school refers to the tendency shown when people are selecting and regulating the course outline and course implementation plan of the history course.There are two main bodies in the values orientation of history teaching.The first one is the administrative principal department maintaining the commanding power of history teaching.The second one is the direct organizer for the history-teaching activity,that is,the history teacher.The former one is to make clear the comprehensive value orientation by means of regulating policies and regulations or guiding the teaching reforms,etc.The latter one is to cultivate the students for their historical thinking mode and correct attitudes and acts,by means of the specific teaching mode,the application of methods and skills,that is,the dual perspectives of theory learning and practice in the teaching practice under the guidance of the comprehensive teaching idea of the former.Before the1980's,the history teaching in high school was oriented by knowledge teaching,in which the teacher was only responsible for teaching or duck-feeding the knowledge and the students are responsible for receiving the knowledge.While the history teaching after the 1980's is oriented by quality education,which would lay emphasis on the cultivation of students' “non-intellectual factor” and giving a full play to the students' role as the main body.At the beginning of the 21 st century,the proposal of the 3D object,that is,knowledge and abilities,process and methods,attitude and values,laid more emphasis on the improvement of students' quality and their abilities.And then the values orientation shown in the History Class Standard in common senior high school as issued by the Ministry of Education paid more attentions to the improvement of the students' learning experience and their comprehensive qualities at the meantime of paying attentions to the overall development of the students,that is,it lays more emphasis on the subject of “people”,paying attentions to the care and cultivation to the students' personalities,stimulating the students' desires for knowledge and activating their passions and vitality for innovation.The changes of the new course standard,the upcoming of the knowledge economy era and the fiercer international competition have posed even higher requirements on the comprehensive abilities of people.The issuance of the new standard and the new teaching materials aims to adapt to the trend of times development and make up for the problems underlying in the curriculum reform with targets upon the inheritance and development of curriculum-reform experience for over 10 years.In face to this challenge,the history teachers in senior high schools should think seriously about the values orientation issue in history teaching and carry out in-depth researches on the specific strategies for implementing this orientation under the guidance of the new curriculum standard,for example,to make a transitionfrom the executor of course to a constructor of course,cultivate the students for their spirits of innovation and cooperation,push forward the reformation of history curriculum and cultivate innovative and constructive talents for the society.On the basis above,surrounding the subjects as the changes of values orientation embodied in the new curriculum standard and how should history teachers in senior high school practice these values in the front-line teaching,this article is divided into 3 parts:The 1st part: The changes of the values orientation for the high school history teaching under the new curriculum standard.In this part,introductions are made to the performance of the values orientation change in history teaching in senior high school under the new curriculum standard and the reasons for this change.The 2nd part: The implementation strategies of the history teaching values orientation under new curriculum standard—with the example of the class May 4th Movement and the Birth of the Chinese Communist Party,the 21 st class of Chinese and Foreign History Outline(Part I).Starting from the 4 perspectives as the teaching objective,teaching resources,teaching means and teaching evaluation,it conducted discussions on the issue as how the history teachers in high schools could integrate the historical-thinking abilities and other key abilities and the core qualities as the emotions and values into the teaching,so as to implement the values orientation for the history teaching as demonstrated by the new curriculum standard.The 3rd Part: The reflections over the practice for the values orientation of senior high school's history teaching.With the on-class practice with May 4th Movement and the Birth of the Chinese Communist Party,and surrounding 3 issues as the teaching mode,teaching resources and teaching means,it conducted discussions on how to implement the macro history-teaching values orientation into the actual teaching.This requires a connection to the academic front line,a close relation with the practical course and that it could follow up with the development trend of the history.
