The curriculum standards of history of ordinary high schools issued in 2017 established five core qualities of "historical materialism","space-time concept","empirical evidence of historical materials","historical interpretation" and "national feelings",among which historical materialism is the theoretical guarantee for the realization of all qualities,as well as the premise and foundation.Learning historical materialism can help students master the general trend of historical development and cultivate their thinking ability of analyzing history.As for the study of historical materialism,the predecessors mainly studied its spread in China,the development of historical materialism in each stage or the combination of historical materialism and a cultural phenomenon.The research on historical materialism and history teaching in middle schools focuses on some aspects,such as the historical materialism in textbooks,the historical materialism in college entrance examination questions,the historical materialism and the strategies of evaluating historical figures and historical materialism.Taking the second year of high school in Nanchang city as an example,this paper investigates the status quo and problems of teachers' application of historical materialism in class,as well as the problems of students' learning of historical materialism.Students' learning concept and learning attitude are not good,and they passively accept the study of historical materialism.The author in the research and analysis and puts forward some strategies on the basis of teaching practice,in terms of teachers,they want to study theory of historical materialism,if necessary,pay attention to the story of the related research results,innovation teaching methods and teaching means,in the project review and the university entrance exam of parsing the connotation of historical materialism,on the basis of historical materialism to cultivate a variety of ways to history teaching,combining students' real life in this paper,the historical materialism;As far as students are concerned,they should change their learning concepts and methods,correctly understand and distinguish some historical concepts,view historical problems from the perspective of connection and development,and make specific analysis of specific problems.Although the study of historical materialism is abstract,it can be combined with the analysis of specific historical facts.
