Core concepts constitute the basic structure of the discipline and play a key role in the cognitive process of students.Since the education curriculum reform in the 21 st century,studies on core concepts have been gradually deepened in countries around the world.The 2017 edition of the chemistry curriculum standards for ordinary high schools in China also further emphasized the important role of core concepts in subject teaching.In this context,how is the implementation of core concepts in middle school chemistry teaching? This study aims to understand the teaching and learning situation of the core concepts in middle school chemistry through investigation and research,and then put forward feasible strategies and Suggestions on this basis.This research mainly uses the interview method,classroom observation and questionnaire survey research,before the survey,combined with the literature theory in the first place,under the theoretical guidance analysis core concept teaching,learning and assessment strategies,and taking the first unit of chemistry elective 3 for high schools “atomic structure and properties”as example,to extract interpretation of core concept,on this basis,design the interview outline table and questionnaires,classroom observation,many senior middle schools in tianjin implementation survey.The results show that :(1)teachers and students have superficial knowledge of core concepts;(2)teaching ignores the construction of knowledge structure of core concepts;(3)scientific core concept teaching methods have low popularity.In view of the above teaching and learning situations,this study believes that teaching should be optimized from three aspects :(1)deepening core concept cognition;(2)optimizing core concept teaching strategies;(3)changing evaluation concept,and puts forward specific Suggestions for each aspect.
