The progress of science and technology has not only brought about rapid economic growth,but also caused serious ecological problems.The 18 th CPC National Congress clearly stated that we must adhere to the path of ecologically sound and civilized development and build a better China.To achieve the goal of building a better China,we must improve citizens' ecological literacy,and ecological education is undoubtedly the best way to improve citizens' ecological literacy.High school students are in a critical period of ecological education.Developing ecological education for high school students is also one of the requirements of the new curriculum standards for high school biology,and it is also one of the issues that the school attaches importance to.Therefore,the construction of an effective ecological education model has become a hot topic for educators.Through literature analysis,the research status of ecological education and STEM education is combed.From the overall situation,the current level of ecological education in the basic education stage in China has not been given enough attention,and there is no effective and operable ecological education model;STEM education has obvious advantages in talent training.In order to provide new ideas for the development of ecological education,this study attempts to combine ecological education with STEM education,explore the design of a new ecological education model,that is,an ecological education teaching model based on STEM education concept,and write teaching design examples.The results obtained in this paper are as follows:1.Through the questionnaire survey,we learned about the ecological literacy level of sophomores in a high school in Shanghai from three dimensions.The survey results show that the current sophomores have problems with incomplete knowledge of ecological knowledge,insufficient ecological awareness,and irregular ecological behaviors.2.Analyzing the feasibility and necessity of combining ecological education and STEM education from different angles.The contents of ecological education are positioned in the life science textbooks of Shanghai Education Edition for senior high schools,analyze the content of ecological education,and the contents of ecological education are classified and sorted out according to conceptual knowledge,experimental knowledge and activity knowledge,which confirms that the content of ecological education has a high degree of consistency with the STEM education concept.3.The ecological education teaching model based on STEM education concept is designed from four aspects: teaching objectives,teaching procedures,auxiliary conditions and teaching evaluation.According to this teaching model,this article takes concept knowledge,experimental knowledge,and activity knowledge as examples,and writes three teaching design examples from the five points of teaching content selection,student analysis,teaching goals,teaching process,and teaching evaluation: Lesson 1: Genetic diversity(conceptual knowledge);Lesson 2: Measurement of plant species diversity(experimental knowledge);Lesson 3: Investigation of Shanghai Nature Reserve(activity knowledge).4.Put forward suggestions for the implementation of the teaching design examples of the ecological education teaching model based on STEM education concept: attention should be paid to the flexibility in the implementation of lesson examples;helping students to break the barriers of discipline;focusing on students participation;actively guiding students' practice process;attaching importance to feedback and evaluation.
