In order to adapt to the constant development of today's science and technology as well as to the global economy,the requirements for talents in society go beyond theoretical knowledge,and more attention is being paid to the formation of practical and innovative talents.Therefore,countries around the world are focusing on the development of complex and innovative talentsin order to enhance national competitiveness.Education is one of the main ways of talents development,and the establishment of educational objectives and the development of values change in response to the changing in science and technology as well as social needs.To develop talents to meet the needs of future societies,the United States was the first to advocate STEM education with four meta-subject areas of science,technology,engineering,and mathematics,focusing on the ability to apply talent innovation and academic integration,this model provides a new educational philosophy and educational strategy for national educational reform,and the proposed educational model has received widespread attention and recognition from educational researchers.As one of the ways to present curriculum knowledge in education,textbooks had provided relatively authoritative written help for the implementation of education and directional help for teaching activities.Therefore,based on the concept of STEM education,this thesis had used the ST?@M pyramidal structure framework as a coding statistical tool to investigate the distribution of STEM knowledge points and the presentation of multidisciplinary integration in the compulsory one and compulsory two textbooks of 2019 Jiangsu Education Edition and 2019 Shandong Education Publishing House edition.The study of this dissertation had been divided into the following parts.Part ?: The background,purpose and significance of this thesis research had been discussed,and the research methods used in this thesis had been described.Part ?: The domestic and international literature had related to STEM education,domestic and international literature on textbook analysis,and core literacy in chemistry had been organized and reviewed.Part ?: Based on the second part,the literature review had been summarized to reveal the inspiration of this thesis,from which the innovative points of the research direction of this thesis had been found,and the research content of this thesis had been determined through the collation.Part ?: Through the collation and creation of the previous three parts,the distribution and percentage of knowledge points had been compared quantitatively by using the ST?@M pyramidal classification method for the compulsory one and compulsory two textbooks of Jiangsu Education Edition and Shandong Education Publishing House edition,it is found that there is little difference in the distribution of scientific knowledge in STEM education between Jiangsu Education Edition and Shandong Education Publishing House edition,but there is a great difference in the distribution of engineering and mathematics knowledge between the two editions.Part ?:Based on the quantitative analysis in the fourth part,a qualitative analysis and comparison of the cognitive depth of the compulsory one and compulsory two textbooks of Jiangsu Education Edition and Shandong Education Publishing House edition terms of four aspects: the way STEM knowledge is presented in the two editions,the degree of integration,the utility of the textbook,and the use of Bloom's Taxonomy for the practical knowledge statistics.It was found that the presentation mode of the auxiliary column of the textbook of Jiangsu Education Edition is relatively single,and the auxiliary column of the textbook of Shandong Education Edition is diverse.From the presentation mode,it can be seen that the problem situation richness of the textbook of Jiangsu Education Edition is not as rich as that of the textbook of Jiangsu Education Edition,but the gradation of the textbook of Jiangsu Education Edition is stronger than that of Shandong Education Publishing House edition.Part ?:part: From the perspective of organic integration of multiple disciplines,for the purpose of optimizing teaching materials and integrating STEM education concept in actual teaching,cultivating chemical core literacy and finally cultivating comprehensive innovative talents,this paper puts forward some suggestions for reference in the compilation of teaching materials,as well as the shortcomings and prospects of this paper.Textbooks are merely teaching tools in the educational process,but their use plays a leading role in the entire educational process,including teacher preparation,student intuitive comprehension,classroom reflection,etc.Although there are three versions of high school chemistry textbooks,the more commonly used Jiangsu Education Edition and Shandong Education Publishing House edition versions were selected for this paper for comparative analysis.It is hoped that the contents of this study will have a significant impact on the future development and optimization of high school chemistry textbooks,as well as on the development of educational curricula for field teachers that incorporate STEM education concepts.
