With the development of the curriculum reform,the education in our country begins to pay attention to the cultivation of the core ideas of the students,and promote the sustainable development of the students.The research results of STEM education in the United States for about 30 years show that STEM education can improve students' scientific literacy and comprehensive ability.In order to stimulate students' interest in learning,improve students' scientific literacy and enhance students' ability to solve practical problems,this paper is based on STEM education concept on the teaching design of the elementary school science development curriculum.This study based on the literature review,defines the concept of STEM education philosophy and as a core concept to construct the teaching model of primary school science curriculum and then based on the model to process teaching design and teaching practice.In this study,the students of grade four were selected as the research object,and the water purification was selected as a case study.After the teaching experiment,through the analysis of science learning interest questionnaire of primary school and students scientific literacy evaluation,STEM education teaching activities make students have significantly improved in learning interest and scientific literacy.Therefore,the teaching design of the elementary school science development course under the STEM education concept can effectively stimulate students' interest in learning and improve their scientific literacy and the ability to solve practical problems.
