Illustrations are called the "second language" of textbooks.They are an important part of textbooks and an important course resource.They play an irreplaceable role in helping teachers to teach and inspire students to read.Scholars at home and abroad have done a lot of research on illustrations of teaching materials,but rarely analyze illustrations from the perspective of images.Therefore,this study uses visual grammar theory to carry out detailed and in-depth research on the illustrations of elementary edition Chinese textbooks,to provide new methods and perspectives for the analysis and evaluation of textbook illustrations,to promote the formation of a systematic illustration analysis theory,and to design illustrations for textbooks.Advisers,educators,and viewers provide some advice and guidance.Based on the existing research results,the author uses literature method and content analysis method to carry out research.First,collect,collate and analyze the relevant literature of textbook illustrations,understand the current status of textbook illustration research,including research directions,research results and existing deficiencies.At the same time,comb the relevant content of visual grammar theory,and reproduce the meaning from The practical illustration analysis framework is arranged in three aspects: meaning of interaction,meaning of composition,and meaning of composition.Based on this,the texts in the Chinese textbooks for elementary schools compiled by the Ministry are divided into two categories: literary and practical,and then subdivided into specific types such as novels,poetry,and prose.The content analysis method is used to statistically analyze and translate the illustrations in the textbooks Quantitative data,combined with specific illustrations for further explorationThe study found that from the perspective of the image construction method of visual grammar theory,narrative reproduction is the most important in the meaning of reproduction,and contact,distance,perspective,and modality in the meaning of interaction are all involved.Significance and framing are commonly used in the meaning of composition.Combining composition elements;from the perspective of stylistic types,the illustration characteristics of different stylistic types are different,such as the more narrative reproduction of fictional text illustrations,the lower proportion of legendary texts with low modal illustrations,and few of them Requestedimages all exist in illustrations of biographical texts and so on.The research inspiration is put forward from the theoretical and practical perspectives.At the theoretical level,the illustrations are analyzed from the perspective of images,which provides a new method and perspective for illustration research.At the practical level,it expands the illustration drawing ideas of illustration designers,which makes it limited The pictures contain deeper meanings;guide the illustration instructors to improve the illustration teaching method,and carry out illustration teaching with reference to the three levels of visual grammar theory;promote the viewers of illustrations to change the way of reading images,and perform illustrations through a complete theory Analyze to understand what the illustrations want to convey.
