Learning engagement is the psychological concentration and effort of students in the learning process.Students who engage well in learning tend to perform better in academic.The influence of social support on students' learning engagement cannot be ignored.However,in the research on social support and learning engagement,there is relatively little research on secondary vocational school students.Therefore,this study attempts to use questionnaire survey and interview methods to explore the relationship between social support and learning engagement of secondary vocational school students and put forward improvement suggestions according to the problems found.The research adopts the self-compiled "Social Support Questionnaire for Secondary Vocational School Students" and "Evaluation Questionnaire for Teachers Involved in Learning" to investigate students and teachers respectively in L County Vocational Education Center(secondary vocational school)in Shaanxi Province,and analyzes the social support and learning engagement of students in different demographic variables.The survey found that family population structure,family economic situation,family residence,class type and other factors have an impact on students' social support and learning engagement.On this basis,the study conducted correlation analysis and regression analysis on students' social support and learning engagement,and found that social support can promote students' learning engagement.Among them,school and teacher support,parents and family support and other people's support have a greater impact on students' learning engagement.In order to clarify the mechanism of social support's influence on students' learning engagement,the research conducted interviews with students with different learning engagement and social support,and found that there are differences in the mechanism of social support from different sources on learning engagement.According to the research findings,the paper puts forward the following suggestions: parents and family members should encourage students more and enhance their confidence in learning;Teachers should have a thorough understanding of students and guide various groups of students correctly.Schools need to reasonably allocate learning resources and better interface with training enterprises to provide better support for students' learning.At the same time,they must continuously improve students' learning environment.The government and society must further increase support for vocational education and create an external public opinion environment conducive to the development of vocational education.
