Leadership is a quality that every individual needs to possess under the background of changing times.Student leadership is a very important comprehensive ability for students,which is of great significance for students to better manage themselves and their teams,and is also a quality that students must possess to become future talents and social citizens.In this study,the author summarizes and analyzes the research on student leadership development at home and abroad,and forms the cognition of the theory and practice of student leadership development.In terms of theoretical research,the current research on student leadership mainly focuses on college students,followed by middle school students,and pays little attention to primary school students.Moreover,there is a certain degree of deviation in the cognition of student leadership,especially the leadership of primary school students.In terms of practical exploration,some universities and secondary schools have made some attempts to cultivate student leadership and accumulated certain cultivation experience.In general,there is a gap between theory and practice in the research on student leadership in China.Most of the theoretical research is the introduction of foreign student leadership theories,while most of the practical exploration is based on the actual situation of Chinese schools.As a result,the student leadership theory cannot guide the development of the student leadership practice,and the student leadership cultivation practice also fails to promote the further improvement of the student leadership theory.In reference on the basis of previous studies,based on three assumptions that everyone has leadership potential,leadership based on the relationship and situation,and leadership can be cultivated,this study focuses attention on the growth in primary school students who are in the critical period.The author tries to discover and explore the leadership potential contained in primary school students,explore the leadership development paths in school field and pupil groups.In this study,the author defines the leadership of primary school students as a series of abilities and qualities that primary school students possess,which are manifested in two aspects: self-leadership and team leadership.The specific contents include cognitive ability,positive personality,self-management ability,interpersonal communication ability,practical innovation ability and sense of responsibility.The author also tries to establish a connection between the theory and practice of student leadership cultivation through field research,so as to promote the development of the practice of primary school student leadership cultivation,and at the same time promote the innovation of localized student leadership theories through practice.In the case study,the author found that X primary school organically integrated the cultivation of student leadership with part of the development of Chinese Students' Key Competencies,,focusing on the cultivation of student leadership qualities in both self and team.X elementary school takes the life education concept as the guide,relying on the distinctive student associations and organizations,taking the “national—local—school-based” three-level curriculum system as the main paths of cultivating the students' cognitive ability and positive personalities,taking the student associations as the main place of students' self-management ability,using the social practice as the main form of cultivating students' interpersonal skills,practical innovation ability and responsibility consciousness.X Primary School integrates the cultivation of student leadership into the three cultivating methods of curriculum,associations and practice.A series of cultivating practices have been carried out in combination with schools,families and communities to explore the distinctive path of leadership cultivation for primary school students.However,X Primary School still has problems of insufficient cultivation consciousness and imperfect cultivation mechanism in the process of student leadership cultivation,which are manifested in the insufficient understanding of teachers and students on student leadership,the lack of a complete cultivation model and the lack of sustainability in cultivation practice.In this regard,the author puts forward three thoughts on promoting the reform of primary school student leadership cultivation.Firstly,the concept of primary school student leadership cultivation should be reshaped.That is,primary school student leadership cultivation should be oriented to all students and require full participation.Secondly,primary school student leadership cultivation mechanism,including operation mechanism and guarantee mechanism,should be established.Thirdly,variety of ways to cultivate the leadership of primary school students should be developed,including the develop primary school student leadership cultivation curriculum,construct primary school students' self-management organizations,and the develop primary school student leadership cultivation activities.
