Since the reform and opening up,China has experienced the largest and fastest urbanization process in human history. In the process of rapid urbanization in China, time and space have been compressed, and the changes in urban and rural space are often unpredictable, while the lifestyle of residents living there has not yet been firmly established.Urban-rural integration,as a regulatory mechanism for balanced urbanrural relations in the new era, expresses the good longing for a harmonious urban-rural relationship. The current research on urban-rural integration focuses on the quantification of the degree of urban-rural integration and the analysis of urban-rural economic, population, capital and other factor flows, but less attention is paid to the core social relationships between people and between people and space organizations.Because of urban-rural integration is a comprehensive issue, this article taking Qunyi Community, the largest “Village-turned-community” in Kunshan City,Jiangsu Province as an example, uses the spatial thinking and analysis tools of geography, and combines economic theory and sociological field investigation methods,to explore the changes of community space from the three perspectives of macro, meso and micro,to observe the lifestyle transformation of community residents from livelihood activities and social activities.Through the spatial changes and the lifestyle transformation of residents in the process of urban-rural integration of “Village-turned-community”,the article considers the reconstruction of local residents' lives via the relationship between blood, geography and karma in sociology, and explores the adjustment of the outsider residents' life in the process of urban-rural integration based on the QWERTY theory in economic geography. The article hopes to explore the general development status and special evolution law of the “Village-turned-community” in the industrialized area during the urban-rural integration process from a more microscopic and humanistic perspective, and draw the following five main conclusions in order to provide a reference for promoting the sustainable development of urban-rural integration of “Village-turned-community”.(1)In the process of urban-rural integration, there is inconsistency in the transformation and reconstruction process between the “Village-turned-community” space and the livelihood activities and social activities of local residents, that signifies that social psychology has not kept up with the transformation of material space and economic activities. The reconstruction of social activities lags behind the reconstruction of community space and livelihood activities. The social psychology has not kept up with the transformation of material space and economic activities. The reconstruction of community space and livelihood activities in the process of urbanrural integration of the “Village-turned-community” reflects the planability and constructability of land and economic elements, while the reconstruction of social activities represents the personal change is full of resilience and difficult to shape of.(2)The internal relevance of the reconstruction of the local residents' life in the “Village-turned-community” lies in the changes in blood, geography, and karma,of which karma is the main reason for the difference in the social activities of the local residents between generations, and plays a key role in the reconstruction of their lives. The spatial change of Qunyi Community and the transformation of local residents' livelihood activities take blood, geography, and karma as the links to affect the transformation of social activities of local residents. The changes in these three relationships have a positive effect on the temporal and spatial continuation of the original social activities of local elderly residents, but only the changes in the karma promote the intergenerational differentiation of new social activities.Learning and employment are important ways to expand the living space.A variety of employment options can separate karma from the blood and geography relationship, get rid of the state where the residents are tied to the land, and realize the urban-rural integration with people as the core.(3)The relocation of the “Village-turned-community” has transformed suddenly the rural space into an urban community in the process of urban-rural integration. The huge energy of spatial transformation interrupts the natural life transformation process of local residents, resulting in spatial differences and inter-generational imbalances in residents' living, producing and socializing. The relocation of the “Village-turnedcommunity” ended thousands of years of rural settlements, meaning that solid, closed spaces were broken and people were differentiated from homogeneous collective groups.Faced with a sudden change in space, young local residents independently choose housing, employment, and social activities in open urban spaces with resources and capabilities different from those of their elders, while local older residents slowly adapt to the new diversified life in the “Village-turned-community”,and copy the remaining lifestyle of rural settlement era to the urban community, what resultes in spatial differences between different communities within the city and intergenerational imbalance in the same community.(4)In the process of urban-rural integration of Qunyi Community, the adjustment of the lives of outsider residents contains more particularities. This seemingly accidental particularity is inevitably locked in this “Village-turned-community” space, which can be explained by the QWERTY thoery in economic geography. The land requisition and demolition movement triggered by the expansion and construction of the Kunshan Development Zone has made Qunyi Community, the largest “Villageturned-community” in Kunshan,as the first foothold for outsiders to enter Kunshan, what is the so-called historical accidental factor in the QWERTY theory.Under the effect of agglomeration effect,Qunyi Community became the natural day-end temporary labor market for foreign-funded enterprises in Kunshan in the 2008 global financial crisis. The increase in the number of outsider residents has triggered an external scale effect, resulting in a series of informal economies spawning, and finally locked this labor market with low cost of living in Qunyi community, completing the space lock formed by path dependence in QWERTY theory.Under the self-evolution of the market mechanism,Qunyi Community has become a well-known “paralyzed sacred place”,falling into the involuntary ending of undeveloped growth, and also confirms the inference about the non-optimal ending in free market in QWERTY theory.(5)The adjustment of the lives of outsider residents of Qunyi Community confirms the QWERTY theory at the micro-community level, but also shows that when it extends beyond the economic field and extends to the scope of society and space,it may not appear a simple non-optimal solution but a more complicated involuntary ending under the free market.QWERTY theory has been widely used in new trade theory and new economic geography, but it is still mainly verified from the macro level of the country and the meso level of the city. The case of Qunyi Community verifies the existence of the QWERTY phenomenon from the micro-community level. In addition, the economic field mainly focuses on economic efficiency, while it also involves social benefits and space production since extends to the scope of society and space. So under the free market, the ending may be more complicated involuntary than non-optimal solutions The involute ending.
