The Geography Curriculum Standards for General Senior High School(2017)put forward the concept of geography core competences,requiring focusing on cultivating students' view of coordinating humans and the environment,comprehensive thinking,regional cognition and geographic practical ability.Meanwhile,the 13 th Five-Year Plan for the development of national education(released by the State Council in January,2017)specifies the establishment of the monitoring mechanism for academic burden and the reduction of overburden of primary and middle school students.Since the new curriculum reform,students' homework and the reduction of academic burden have always been the hot spots of education and society.Considering these new requirements,geography homework also needs changing in order to meet the demands of new curriculum standards.Combining the characteristics of geography subject,the author has chosen practical homework as the entry point of the research to study the design and the implementation of geography practical homework in senior high schools,which aims at providing reference for the front-line teachers in their routine work through research on how to enhance the results of the geography homework in senior high schools.The research selects senior one and two students from different senior high schools as respondents of the questionnaire and sixfront-line geography teachers from senior high schools as interviewees to conduct a survey of the current situation of geography practical homework in senior high school.Meanwhile,the author conducts targeted research on the practical homework in works of senior high school geography in “2019 Shanghai's excellent homework and test papers collection and selection activities in primary and middle schools”.Based on the results of sorting out questionnaires,interviews and case analysis,the author summarizes the principles geography teachers should observe when they design practical homework and points out the matters they should pay attention to,i.e.implementing core competences,being close to students' life and pursuing the completion of effectiveness.Besides,the author suggests that target setting and problem type selection should cover more fields and the amount and the difficulty of the homework should be moderate and avoid increasing students' academic burden.Eventually,according to this conclusion,the author conducts a case design and through practice and research on case implementation,the author further elaborates the problems teachers may meet with in the implementation process and provides possible solutions.
