Teams are the basic functional and working units in organizations,and they serve as a very important role.Along with the increase of international business and growth of MNCs,there are more and more international teams,and they are becoming more and more important.The performance of these international teams will highly affect the performance of their organizations,hence proper methods are needed to manage these international teams.In this article,the writer takes Corporation M as study subject and focus on one highly international team model,follow the sun team model.In these teams there are members in different countries and regions around the world,and as the sunlight area moves,they provide services to customers in nearby countries and regions or global customers at different times.In this article,the writer introduces the definition of culture,theories about culture,cross-culture communication and cross-culture communication,especially about the cultural dimensions theory,and introduces backgrounds of Corporation M and follow-the-sun team in Corporation M.Analysis is introduced by specific cross-culture conflict cases,and followed by summary of possible factors that caused the cross-culture conflict on each dimension.Then solutions are constructed and used to solve the specific cases,as examples of how to implement these solutions.With observations and interviews,the author utilized the cultural dimensions theory and relative theories,analyzed the various issues in the management of follow the sun model teams,provided suggestive solutions,and came to conclusions about the resolving of inter-culture conflicts in follow the sun model teams:the resolving of inter-culture conflicts in follow the sun teams requires deep analysis of the dimensions of the cultures of the countries of the team members,identifying differences in cultural dimensions and root causes,and construct the specific solutions;leaders of follow the sun teams are key elements in the resolving and preventing inter-culture conflicts in follow the sun teams;the study on follow the sun team can serve as a reference for the management of international teams for Chinese companies.
