An Empirical Study On The Relationship Between Green Supplier Development And Firm Performance

Suppliers have significant impact on enterprises in terms of product and service costs,quality and delivery.Enterprises need to implement supplier development activities to improve suppliers' supply capacity and promote partnership with suppliers,so as to achieve higher business efficiency.First of all,through the review of literature and theory,this study puts forward two main research questions:(1)what impact will green supplier development have on economic performance and environmental performance?(2)what role does supplier partnership play in the relationship between green supplier development and firm performance?Secondly,based on the above problems,the author constructs a conceptual model of the relationship between green supplier development,supplier partnership and firm performance,and proposes the research hypotheses.Then,this study analyzes 259 valid questionnaires and obtains the following conclusions:(1)Green supplier development practice can significantly improve environmental performance and economic performance,in which direct green supplier development has positive effect on both economic performance and environmental performance,while indirect green supplier development only has significant impact on the environmental performance.(2)Green supplier development activities can improve the partnership between enterprises and suppliers.(3)The closer the partnership between firms and suppliers,the better their economic performance and environmental performance.Green supplier development activities improve the firm's economic performance and environmental performance by improving supplier partnership.Finally,based on the research results,this study provides management suggestions for the implementation of green supplier development in enterprises.
