Industrial Structure Adjustment And Income Gap Between Urban And Rural Areas

In recent years,with the continuous improvement of marketization and the development of market economy,industrial restructuring has been promoted.The proportion of output value of the three industries in China has gradually changed from "two,three,one" to "three,two and one".The tertiary industry has surpassed the first and second industries and become the pillar industry to absorb surplus labor.In recent years,the restriction of household registration system and urban-oriented economic policies on rural labor force has been weakened,which makes it possible for industrial changes.Industrial restructuring has provided sufficient employment posts for urban and rural residents by changing the allocation of factors and increased their income,but the problem of income distribution has not been very serious.A good solution is mainly manifested in the widening income gap between urban and rural areas.The ultimate goal of national policy adjustment is to adjust the industrial structure,promote the overall development of urban and rural areas,improve the economic structure,narrow the income gap and achieve common prosperity.In the new era,whether the adjustment and optimization of industrial structure can effectively narrow the income gap between urban and rural areas is the central issue of our concern.Based on the existing literature and economic theory,this paper divides the industrial structure into three perspectives,and explores the impact of industrial structure adjustment on urban-rural income gap from three dimensions:rationalization of industrial structure,advanced industrial structure of non-agricultural sector and modern level of agricultural sector.Firstly,by reasonably structuring the relevant variables such as industrial structure and urban-rural income gap,and using the data of 34 large and medium-sized cities in China from 2000 to 2016 for 17 years,this paper deeply analyzed the development law of industrial structure adjustment and urban-rural income gap change in 34 large and medium-sized cities in China over the years;secondly,from the micro and macro levels.The impact mechanism of urban-rural income gap is elaborated in detail,including the micro-level including labor factor flow,capital factor flow and technology development,and the macro-level including urban-rural dual economic structure and employment structure.In the empirical aspect,this paper considers the possible endogenesis through hypothesis of different conditions.The fixed effect model of static panel data,the panel tool variable model and the system GMM model of dynamic panel data are established to enhance the robustness of the conclusion.It is found that the improvement of the modernization level of the agricultural sector can effectively narrow the income gap between urban and rural residents.The advanced development of industrial structure enlarges the income gap between urban and rural areas.The state promotes the effective allocation of resources through the rationalization of industrial structure,thus improving the employment structure is conducive to narrowing the income gap between urban and rural areas.Finally,this paper proposes to continue to strengthen financial support for agricultural production technology.While promoting the advanced development of industrial structure,the state should also take into account the rationalization of industrial structure,strengthen the investment of human capital in urban and rural labor force,and promote the simultaneous growth of urban and rural residents' labor income.This study has important practical significance for promoting the stable and healthy development of China's economy.The analysis of current situation and problems will help us to correctly understand the actual situation of industrial restructuring and urban-rural income in China over the years and clarify the law of change and development.Secondly,through the analysis of influence mechanism,we can clearly understand the income gap caused by industrial restructuring.Meanwhile,it is of great guiding significance to the medium and long-term macro-policy control in China,to promote the coordinated development of industrial structure upgrading and rationalization,to speed up the development of agricultural modernization,to continuously improve agricultural productivity,to realize the simultaneous development of urban and rural areas,and to gradually narrow the income gap between urban and rural areas.In terms of theoretical significance,this paper refines the adjustment of industrial structure into three dimensions,expands the research perspective,and makes up for the deficiencies in the study of industrial structure and income distribution in China.Based on the actual situation of China,this paper empirically analyses the impact of industrial structure adjustment on urban-rural income gap in recent years.Empirical research on income distribution.
