Comparisons Of Influencing Factors Of Agricultural Labor Productivity In China

During the 40 years of reform and opening up,China has achieved rapid economic development,while the pace of agricultural modernization is also accelerating.As a populous country,agriculture is the foundation of the national economy.The lagging development level of agricultural modernization will make the development of other sectors of the national economy and social instability.With the change of national economic growth mode,the development concept and production mode of agriculture itself are also facing a comprehensive and fundamental change.According to the China Modernization Report 2012: Research on Agricultural Modernization issued by the China Modernization Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences,although the grain yield per unit area has reached the average level of developed countries,China’s agricultural economy lags behind the United States by about 100 years.China’s agricultural labor productivity is about 10 times lower than that of China’s industrial labor productivity,only 2% lower than that of developed countries,and the level of China’s agricultural modernization is about 10% lower than that of the state.At present,it is urgent to solve the inefficiency of agricultural production.Agricultural labor productivity is an important index to measure the efficiency of agricultural development and the level of agricultural modernization in China.Its research has a very positive impact on the development of agricultural modernization in China.By using the methods of literature analysis,investigation and summary,this paper makes a brief analysis on the influencing factors of agricultural labor productivity in China.Through reviewing the existing research results,it draws four influencing factors: financial support,marketization rate of agricultural labor,total mechanical power and fertilizer intensity.Thirteen provincial-level banks in the main grain-producing areas of China from 1997 to 2016 are utilized.With the help of Stata operation software,the paper establishes an inter-provincial panel data regression model for influencing factors of agricultural labor productivity in major grain-producing areas of China,and analyses the influence degree of each factor on agricultural labor productivity.The results show that agricultural financial expenditure,marketization of agricultural labor force,mechanization and fertilizer use intensity all have positive effects on agricultural labor productivity.Among them,the degree of marketization of agricultural labor force and financial expenditure on agriculture have significant effects on agricultural labor productivity,while the degree of mechanization and the intensity of fertilizer use have little effects.At last,the author thinks that the government should take active measures to increase investment in agriculture,speed up the process of agricultural mechanization,speed up the establishment of rural labor market,and improve the degree of marketization of agricultural labor,so as to improve agricultural labor productivity.
