A Study On Trade Facilitation Of South Korea

Customs has always been an important intermediate hub of foreign trade.Cumbersome customs clearance procedures and inefficient customs quarantine have increased the cost of foreign trade and restricted the growth of trade.With the continuous growth of trade volume,the hidden cost of trade has gradually become apparent and become a major problem hindering the development of trade.How to simplify the trade clearance process,establish an efficient customs clearance system,improve the business environment and continuously promote trade facilitation has become an important research topic in the process of economic globalization.South Korea is one of the early countries to promote trade facilitation.It has promoted trade facilitation measures under the frameworks of WTO,APEC and FTA respectively,and improved customs clearance efficiency by implementing diversified and convenient customs clearance systems and establishing a single window for international trade,so as to reduce cross-border trade costs for enterprises.This paper USES the trade promotion index compiled by BBS of the world economy to evaluate the trade facilitation level of South Korea,and the results show that its overall level of trade facilitation is at the forefront of the world,second only to Japan in northeast Asia,and has many successful practical experience in customs management,rapid customs clearance and other aspects.However,there are still some problems to be improved in the process of South Korea's trade facilitation,such as the relatively low openness of some south Korean products,imperfect supervision mechanism of trade facilitation and insufficient investment in infrastructure for cross-border trade.Finally,combined with the current situation of China's trade facilitation,this paper analyzes the challenges China faces in advancing the trade facilitation process,and puts forward countermeasures and Suggestions for China's development of trade facilitation based on China's national conditions and the successful experience of foreign countries.This article for the south Korean trade facilitation of the study was conducted on the basis of predecessors' research,to participate in the way as well as South Korea to implement measures for both has carried on the summary analysis,but as a result of trade facilitation a variety of forms,it remains to be further analysis of the implementation details,in order to better promote the progress of trade facilitation.
