Employees are major assets of any organization.The active role they play towards a company7 s success cannot be undermined in any way.As a result,equipping these unique assets through effective training becomes very essential in order to maximize their output and also position them to take on the challenges of today's competitive business climate.Although extensive research has been conducted in the area of Human Resource Management,the same cannot be said on training and its effect on employee satisfaction especially as it concerns developing countries like mine.The subject matter of this thesis work focuses on 'The effect of Training on Employee Satisfaction:A survey from Movenpick ambassador hotel,Accra-Ghana.It was inspired by the fact that most organizations in my country do not seem to care about improving the skills of their employees but instead frown at and punish any weaknesses or inappropriateness portrayed by the employee.In order to understand the study aim,three main objectives were developed and these focused particularly on identifying the types,methods and areas of training offered in Movenpick Ambassador Hotel,how training affects employee satisfaction from the perspective of management and how training affects employee satisfaction from the perspective of the employees.Both qualitative and quantitative research approach of the data collection was adopted.Questionnaire was distributed to 155 respondents to gather the quantitative data.Direct observations by the researcher on the case hotel and Interviews with 9 management team members was also used in gathering the qualitative data for this research.Hypothesis for the quantitative data for this study was tested using correlation analysis and hierarchical regression analysis.Based on the results obtained from management of the hotel,it indicates that the hotel organizes various important training for the employees,and that the quality of service at the hotel is highly affected by appropriate training methods and the positive attitude of employees.The outcomes of the tested hypothesis demonstrated that,there is a positive relationship between training and employee satisfaction.Also,it indicated that Motivation and Skill development will mediate the relationship between training and employee satisfaction.Based on these outcomes,the survey concluded that training does exist in Movenpick Ambassador Hotel and have substantive effects on satisfaction of employees.Finally,the researcher suggested that limitations need to be placed on the generalizability of this study beyond the current organization where it was conducted.The data of this study was collected from a Privately owned organization in Accra,Ghana.Obviously,replication is necessary to test the relationships reported in the study.Thus,future studies could replicate the proposed relationships used here in other types of organizations such as public sector organizations where training of employees is usually not very effective.The researcher finally recommend that some other specific training should be organized by management of the Hotel for further betterment of the employees and hence employee satisfaction.
