Research On The Competitiveness Of Potato Industry In Zhangjiakou City

Potatoes are mainly produced in arid or semi-arid areas,while in China they are mainly produced in Gansu Province,Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region,Shaanxi Province,Heilongjiang Province and Hebei Province.Potato industry has made a great contribution to China's economic development and is one of the pillar industries of its agricultural industry.Since 2005,potatoes have gradually become a necessity in people's daily life and played an important role in improving the diet structure.As an arid-semi-arid region,Zhangjiakou City has a natural environment suitable for potato growth,and has a variety of varieties,with distinct regional characteristics.In recent years,with the rapid development of the potato industry in Zhangjiakou,the potato industry has gradually become one of the important industries in Zhangjiakou,an important source of farmers' income,and has a good development prospects.However,with the continuous development and improvement of market economy,a series of problems have gradually emerged in the potato industry in Zhangjiakou,and the development of the potato industry in Zhangjiakou is seriously restricted by the backward technology and insufficient funds.Industry competitiveness is an important indicator of industry development.So,how about the competitiveness of potato industry in Zhangjiakou? What are the problems in improving the competitiveness of the potato industry in Zhangjiakou? How can we improve the competitiveness of Zhangjiakou potato industry? These studies play an important role in the healthy development of potato industry in Zhangjiakou.Based on resource endowment theory,comparative advantage theory,competitive advantage theory,industrial organization theory,this paper provides theoretical basis for the evaluation of potato industry competitiveness in Zhangjiakou.The SWOT analysis method was used to analyze the current situation of the potato industry in Zhangjiakou from four aspects: the advantages and disadvantages of the potato industry in Zhangjiakou and the opportunities and challenges faced by the potato industry in Zhangjiakou.Using the analytic hierarchy process and factor analysis method,combined with the principle of index selection,twelve evaluation indicators were finally selected.Then,from the four dimensions of production capacity competitiveness,infrastructure factor competitiveness,value level competitiveness and other competitiveness,the evaluation model of potato industry competitiveness in Zhangjiakou was constructed.Ten main potato producing areas were selected and the competitiveness of potato industry in these ten cities was analyzed quantitatively by using the model.The result shows that the competitiveness of potato industry in Zhangjiakou ranks seventh.Finally,according to the conclusions,six suggestions and suggestions are put forward for the development of potato industry and the promotion of potato industry competitiveness in Zhangjiakou.
