The Study On The Influence Of Industrial Structure In China On Consumption Structure

Consumption structure and industrial structure have always been the economic issues that scholars focus on.As an important part of the national economy,reasonable industrial structure plays an important role in the sustainable and healthy development of the national economy and the optimization of consumption structure.To promote residents' consumption and increasing the proportion of consumption in the economy are prominent problems facing China's social development.Studying the consumption structure of Chinese residents is related to the rapid development of social economy as well the improvement of people's living conditions.According to previous studies,scholars pay more attention to the analysis of the impact of consumption structure on industrial structure from the perspective of demand side.In November 2015,General Secretary Xi Jinping first put forward the "supply-side structural reform" at the eleventh meeting of the Central Financial and Economic Leading Group.It was committed to solving the problems of overcapacity and unbalanced economic development in China since the new normal economy.This policy provides a new way for socioeconomic scholars to consider the relationship between industrial structure and consumption structure in terms of supply,which is more suitable for the current social development.This paper studies the influence of industrial structure on consumption structure from the perspective of supply side.Firstly,through the study of relevant literature,the interaction mechanism between industrial structure and consumption structure is analyzed theoretically.Then,through the construction of system GMM model,the influence of industrial structure on China's consumption structure is analyzed.This paper regards the proportion of eight categories expenditure of total as consumption structure and observes which kind of consumption structure is more affected by industrial structure.Then the consumption structure system is divided into three categories: survival type,enjoyment type and development type.The impact of industrial structure on the consumption structure of urban and rural areas is analyzed,and the reasons for the difference between urban and rural consumption are analyzed.The results show that:(1)Industrial structure has a certain role in promoting consumption structure.The optimization of industrial structure has brought more employment opportunities to the market,thus improving the income and consumption level of residents,and the consumption structure will develop to a higher level.(2)With the optimization of industrial structure,the consumption expenditure of urban and rural residents for subsistence has gradually decreased,the consumption for development has gradually increased,the consumption expenditure of rural residents for enjoyment has increased while that of cities and towns has decreased,which reflects the problem of insufficient supply of high-end industries in cities and towns,while the development of rural areas is getting better and better than before.(3)The optimization of industrial structure will narrow the gap between urban and rural development-oriented and Enjoyment-oriented consumption.The reduction of Enjoyment-oriented consumption gap represents the gradual reduction of the gap between urban and rural residents in spiritual demand consumption.The reduction of development-oriented consumption gap represents the awareness of education and health of urban and rural residents become closed.The gap of consumption structure between urban and rural residents in China is decreasing and tending reasonable.China should continue to insist on supply-side reform,cultivate innovative industries,expand the effective supply of high-end products,reduce the overcapacity of low-end products,promote high-quality economic development,and solve the problem of the mismatch between supply structure and demand structure in economic development as soon as possible.
