Evaluation Of The Development Of Featured Towns With In-depth Integration Of Agriculture And Tourism

With the rapid growth of China's economy,the adjustment of regional economic structure,the transformation of industrial structure and the flows of talents,China has ushered in the peak period of urbanization development.During the past two years,China has identified 403 featured towns and planned to develop around 1,000 featured towns nationwide by 2020.The featured towns have accordingly become a new growth point of national economy.Along with their rapid development,nevertheless,the issue of mono-industrial structure of featured towns dominated by tourism has been gradually highlighted.This issue does not only restrict the development of such towns,but also affects the improvement of people's living standards.Moreover,as agriculture is the basic industry of China's national economy,not only should the issue of agricultural development be further discussed,but also its combination with tourism to promote the development of featured towns.Therefore,it is crucial to study and evaluate the development of featured towns with in-depth integration of agriculture and tourism.This thesis chose the development of featured towns with the in-depth integration of agriculture and tourism as a research topic,aiming to explore the potential development way for the deep integration of agriculture and tourism that is suitable for the development of featured towns of Chinese characteristics through studying the current situation of the integration of agriculture and tourism in featured towns of Chinese characteristics and solving the existing problems.In this thesis,Gegu Town was selected as a featured example for comprehensive analysis in terms of its advantages and disadvantages as well as opportunities and challenges.Based on the their future development prospects,this thesis explored ideas and approaches of developing Chinese featured towns with in-depth integration of agriculture and tourism,and offered scientific and reasonable guidance for promoting the development of such towns under the context of globalization.The paper was divided into six chapters.Chapter One clarified the research background,significance and objectives,current research in China,their approaches and innovation points.Chapter Two outlined relevant concepts and theoretical basis.Chapter Three briefly described and discussed the general situation and issues of featured towns with in-depth integration of agriculture and tourism.Chapter Four comprehensively analyzed the integrated development of Gegu Featured Town including 1)its basic situations as a featured town,2)the potential of the in-depth integrated development of agriculture and tourism,3)the internationalization potential of its infrastructure hardware and service software,and 4)the new development model of its in-depth integration of agriculture and tourism representing the innovative development of featured towns.Chapter Five suggested measures for the development of featured towns with in-depth integration of agriculture and tourism in China.Chapter Six concluded the thesis.This thesis combined literature study and case statistics as its research methods,in which literature study was based on the extensive searching of domestic and foreign literatures through academic databases,to achieve comprehensive collection of the relevant literatures.The case statistics combined both individual case study and multiple cases study.Taking Gegu Town as the specific research object,this paper comprehensively analysed the advantages and disadvantages,opportunities and challenges in the development of Gegu Town from three aspects:its basic conditions,its potential of in-depth integration of agriculture and tourism,and the potential of internationalization of infrastructure hardware and service-oriented software.The thesis then tried to figure out a way to integrate regional characteristic agriculture with folk culture,comprehensive commerce and trade,and ecological livability,which would be suitable for Gegu Town to develop a new model of deep integration of agriculture and tourism,and to form a characteristic brand of featured towns.By analyzing the typical example of Gegu Town,this thesis tried to find the root cause of the problems restricting the development of agricultural tourism in featured towns in China,and put forward the countermeasures to promote the transformation and upgrading of industrial structure,speed up and improve the efficiency,speed up the integration of resources,and improve the level of soft and hard infrastructure construction.This thesis believes that the deep integration development of agriculture and tourism in China should not only learn from the experiences and lessons from different regions,but also adapt measures to local conditions according to the characteristics of industrial structure of featured towns.The development of small towns of agriculture and tourism depth integration requires maintaining their own characteristics as well as be open and inclusive,and requires representing both traditional culture and merging modern fashion.In addition to inheriting and protecting the regional cultural and historical heritage,it is essential to discover its own attractions considering the market demands,and further integrate with agricultural tourism,to eventually achieve a brand management model that symbolizing the characteristics of small towns,gradually develop all kinds of industries,and extend to the various business.
