The Inverse Problem Of Conflict Resolution Based On The Mediation Strategy Of Third Party

Conflict is common in various field,in economic,in trade,in medical care,and in military.Without effective intervention,it is likely to lead sever property damage and casualties of the society.Third party intervention is very valid method to deal with it.The inverse problem of Graph Model for Conflict Resolution(IPGMCR)is an ideal tool to provide mediation strategy for third party.After the comprehensive study of IPGMCR,mediation models are constructed to find the best mediation solution(s)from option and strategy perspective.The solution methods of the models are also presented.At first,from the perspective of state-based preference,two 0-1 programming models are constructed based on the advised outcome unstable for one of DMs or two respectively.Equivalent linear programming models are deducted from the original models to facilitate the computation by linear transformation method.All the optimal solutions of the models can be obtained by using the theory of CB cuts and a designed algorithm to exclude vested optimal solution(s).According to the solutions,their part can make detailed mediation strategy to change the preferences of DMs.Then,a 0-1 programming model is constructed based on the option-based preference.Let k denotes the total number of options in a conflict,and then there are possible states for the conflict.Although certain states are infeasible and removed,the number of remaining states can still be large,and hence the amount of permutations of states can be substantial.Therefore,the option-based preference system,which can be obtained by DMs’ preference statements,dramatically reduces the numbers of feasible solutions and the computational complexity.The mathematical relation between the priority order of preference statements and preference is given.By changing the priority order of preference statements,third party can lure DMs to be stable in suggested state.At last,the mediation models are used to analysis a real world medical dispute.Without any interference,the medical dispute would escalate according to the stability analysis of the medical dispute.Third party was immediately invited to mediate the dispute.After ensuring the suggested state,the solution of proposed model provided the third party with DMs’ new preferences,which can then facilitate the third party to propose a practical mediation strategy.The models proposed by this paper are the first mathematical models of IPGMCR and enrich GMCR and support third party to make a practical mediation strategy.
